Those dudes need goaltending, ASAP. If not, they're going nowhere in the playoffs. Murray should be calling Fletcher asking about the avilability of Toskala.

Yeah, rumour has that we're not and that we're riding Emery all the way.

Murray's still looking to acquire another forward apparently, but most teams are asking for Vermette in return. So, I don't expect the Sens to be dealing anymore.

If the Sens can get a #1 goaltender, Vermette should be on the first bus out of town. He's the Sens version of Alex Steen or Antropov. He's got tons of promise, but you wonder if he can ever reach his full potential. If not, the team should just ride Emery. The guy has the experience. He's played in big games for both the Sens and Greyhounds.

But that's the problem and why we'll likely not acquire a #1 goalie, because the Sens still aren't ready to part with Antoine.

For what its worth....Guy who used to work with me at MLSE, is kinda in the know....said Sundin has submitted his list..and will be gonzo by tues %100. Also...talk of moving MacCabe to NYIslanders, and Kaberle to San Jose.

Yeah, Darren Dreger said on TSN this morning that he's given Fletcher a list of teams, but Sundin's adamant about remaing a Maple Leaf. I definitely see McCabe going somewhere, but I don't think it would be wise moving Kaberle. He's their best player and still young.

do now we know Sundin ain't going anywhere.

What are your thoughts on this?

Personally, while i can see both sides to the argument, i totally side with Mats' decision to not waive his no-trade clause. I completely respect his reasons and i think he's right about the whole rent-a-player thing. I'm a bigger Sundin fan now than i was before.

Funny thing, on my drive to work i heard don and gord debating about the whole thing. Don was saying that Sundin should have waived it if he really loved the Leafs like he said he did because it would be a better move for the team. Anyways, Don then asked the traffic girl what she thought, and she totally put him in his place and backed it up rather nicely. It was quite funny.

I don't care for Don Landry.

I respect Mats for his desicion, but if I'm not wanted somewhere it would be hard for me not to leave, especially if I had a chance to go play for a winner.

From a Montreal perspective I don't get why your GM gave all those no trade clauses in the first place? Why to McCabe? Why to an aging centre? It was obvious the last two seasons that they needed to rebuild so you hand out no movement clauses to veterans with trade value? Just a stupid, stupid, stupid decision.

And honestly, good on Mats for saying I want to say. But also if I was a Leafs fan, I'd be massively pissed right now because the next time they'll be whatsoever relevant will be in 3-5 years time.

Now I think they need to move guys like Toskala because you're not gonna contend for a playoff or championship spot and seeing how teams need 'tending you can trade your best player for youth and bring up Pogge and let him learn the game.

Exactly .... I can appreciate loyalty because its extremely rare in professional sports today, but if you truely love this franchise then why not waive your clause knowing that Fletcher was going to get alot in return and help this team rebuild now.

Anyhow, knowing that most of the Leafs that they want to deal have trade clauses, why did they fire JFJ and hire Fletcher anyways? Looks like Cliff is forced to stand pat while not making the team any better. JFJ could of done the same thing and in turn would saved the franchise alot of money in buying out Ferguson and hiring Fletcher.

That franchise is fucked.

So what's up with Forsberg? Dude says he's not coming back to the NHL this season and then I hear during the Raps game he signed with Colorado.

BTW, big game in Beantown tomorrow Dr.J.

Considering the Sens suck ass right now and have no goaltending and are losing 5-0 to the Leafs tonight, I expect the Bruins to molest us tomorrow night.

Alright fancylad and CG .... its a race to who acquires Hossa. Apparently the 2 teams in the running are the Habs and Sens. Habs are talking about offering Higgins + filler/pick and the Sens are to be offering Vermette + filler/pick. If I were a gambling man, the Habs are going to have to sweeten the pot a little bit because although Higgins might score more, I think all round Antoine's the better player.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

hmmm... i'll be kind of disappointed to lose Higgins. He has been pretty good and i'd say is having a better season (than Vermette).

I don't know Hossa's contract situation, so i have no idea how long they'd keep him after this season.

Regardless, it would be an upgrade for either team.

BTW. I really like Guy Charboneau as a coach. The man oozes confidence and authority.
