Wow, I just looked at the NHL standings for the first time in about five years. Man the Southeast Division blows.

Yup, not to mention that Corvo doesn't really like to play in Canada, so he should be happy returning to his homeland. Prospal would be that Top 6 forward Paddock and Murray are looking for and Boyle could come home to finish off his career here in Ottawa. Boyle >>>> Corvo anyways.

The Habs embarassed themselves last night. All this talk of Hossa coming to Montreal...right now we need a guy who can win faceoffs MORE than a scorer. We have enough young talented forwards who can eventually score. That was miserable.

And how about this for Leaf fans...Toskala for Emery. It makes sense for both teams.

Yeah, the first couple goals in the first 2 minutes were flukes for Ottawa, but how impressive and strong is the line of Heatley, Aflie and Spezza? Best in hockey right now?

The Spezza/Heatley/Alfie line is fucking dangerous. They just feed off one another. If one is missing then the entire cog doesn't work. Another trade scenario I thought of, for the hell of it, was Mats Sundin going to Ottawa for let's say Fisher and Emery. Imagine Sundin on the second line. You go from a one line team to a two line team.

Fisher won't be going anywhere, but Vermette is apparently available and been the key player in alot of Ottawa trade rumours. Ottawa's still looking for a Top 6 forward and currently using Vermette as bait.

As much as I'd love Sundin in a Sens uni, I can't see Fletcher dealing to a division rival let alone Ottawa.

So the Sens finally get their top-6 forward and ship Corvo out on the process!

LINK

Never saw this coming, but a very good move by Murray - kinda steep price.

WOOHOO .. awesome deal for the Sens. I think Corvo was only good on offense because of the big three. Commodore is a more stay at home d-man who's tough as nails not too mention has a ton of Cup experience with both Calgary and Carolina. Stillman, what can you say? If healthy, will definitely contribute and I can see him killing it on a line with Fisher.

As for Eaves, never liked him and I'm kind of glad he's gone.

Stillman is SO incredibly underrated. He's a point per game producer. I'm not sure about giving up Eaves, but I guess they didn't have to give up Vermette, so that's a plus.

Eaves is very injury prone. Maybe its Ottawa and already being loaded on offense, but he wasn't effective in this line-up at all in my opinion. Eventhough he's 6'0 and about 190 lbs., he plays very much like a small guy. Too timid for my liking I guess. I hope he does well in Carolina and wish him well, but I won't miss him.

My colleague here at work is best friends with Derek Armstrong from the Kings and apparently when Corvo came to the Sens Derek said to my colleague that Joe wasn't happy in the slightest because he's never wanted to play for a Canadian team. So needless to say he'll be happy to be back home in the States now.

So, what do you think guys? You think Sundin will waive his no trade clause? Apparently Cliff's asked him for a list of teams, so who knows. All I can say its enjoy this weekend Leaf fans because it might be last you see Sundin in a Leafs uniform.

I hope for his sake he waives it. shit... hasn't he been through enough already?

I'd personally love to see him with the Habs. It'll give me another reason to cheer for the Bleu, blanc, et rouge.
ha. I'm probably one of the only people that likes both teams pretty equally. um.. actually i'd say i like montreal more now because of the splendid direction they're heading in.

Love the signing, Doc. King Henrik is still only 26, in the prime of his career. You know that good goaltending is essential for any team to achieve success.

Sundun's gonna go to the Ducks. They have the best shot at winning the cup. The price? Bobby Ryan, Edmonton's 1st this season (via the Dustin Penner signing in the off-seasons) and aa fringe prospect.

Ironically, the Leafs had a deal all set in place with Philadelphia that would have sent a 1st round selection this season, Jeff Carter and another prospect for Tomas Kaberle, but because of the power of a no-trade clause, Kaberle's reps exercised their clause and nixed the trade.

Tell me about ... I'm seeing it first hand this season in Ottawa.

I'm really starting to dislike Paddock and his coaching methods here in Ottawa. That whole "win in your in gimmick" he did for 2 months did more harm than good to both Emery and Gerber's confidence.
