from mid-way through the second period and on they played like total shit, they never deserved to win.

you could say that about the majority of their wins

low shots, great goaltending, good special teams

Its true, I just don't see it turning into a good thing. They just need to shoot a bit more and stop getting so defensive, especially with leads.

Leafs are in trouble...they've lost all they're strength down the middle
i expect them to drop from 4th to around 8th (or worse) in their conference during the next week or so

I think we can still take these 2 buffalo games, although the Sabres are gonna have some adrenaline because of the new coaching staff. But damn, losing your top 3 centres is fucking brutal. JVR isn't that effective of a centre, McClement is on the second line, Trevor freaking Smith is on the 3rd. Who centres the 4th line?

edit - forgot about Jerrod Smithson, he'll probably be on 4th line C duties

lost all top 3 starting centers
first game back for Nolan/LaFontaine

the result was pretty much expected imho
this team is in trouble...i expect it to drop (significantly) in the standings over the next couple of weeks

Dude, Buffalo is the worst team in the NHL not counting records (Oilers) I don't care what centres we lost, there is no excuse to lose to that bad of a team. A new coach coming in doesn't make them better.

Holland looked decent out there, considering the circumstances especially.

Good win for the buds yesterday. Kessel sniped 2 goals, and Lupes picked up 3 helpers. Bernier was fantastic again too.

Ya that was a good win. Islanders can do some damage and toronto was better. A bit relieved that Clarkson finally scored. He can't be making that much money and not contribute on the scoresheet. Hopefully there's more where that came from.

Man we need to get some of these centers back. apparently Bozak isn't that far away. Can Kadri play next game?

Also i really like Reilly.

Kadri is back next game...Bozak is skating again (probably a couple of weeks away)

interesting rumour floating around...TO is shopping Gardiner for Brayden Schenn..last year i would have said no fucking way...but with Rielly's emergence, i can see the logic in this move

Saw this rumor, very interesting. I really like Gards though, he has looked much better out there on his natural side. Schenn is a heck of a talent though. Flyers need a good D-man with upside and we need a centreman with upside.

From what I just watched it looks like it's going to be another game or 2 yet after Thursday, but he's very close. I could be wrong but thats how it sounded to me.

Also Fraser is skating and saying he's getting better and getting near as well.

As far as Schenn goes (lol imagine we take Brayden after trading Luke there) Where would he go? If both C's are healthy he'd play 3rd line C behind 2 till young players. Would that put someone else up for trade bait? I'm not for or against it but getting Schenn to play 3rd line C doesn't seem worth it. I still like Gardnier too

49 Saves on 50 shots for Reimer. Well done. A win is a win, shootout or not.
