According to the plentyoffish profile that someone made with my pics, I LOVE the Jets.

So, go Jets 'n stuff.

Man fuck the Jets.

Caps are digging their own graves and the Leafs are following suit. Better win on Saturday.

I've given up on the leafs making the playoffs this year, finally comes to a point in the year where they normally play really well, and have a chance to keep themselves in it over and over, and despite the constant losses by teams below them, they just continue to shit the bed.

The fuck do we need to do to have 1 good fucking season for any Toronto team anymore, good lord!

I'm the opposite after living through the 80s I actually see a team of hope. I have a feeling this team will make the playoffs and it will be great for the young players to experience

agreed about hope, but i still say the chances of them going on are 50/50

for years, the Leaf's glass has been half empty...but i see it now as half full...youngest team in the NHL with a lot of good young talent in the minors...yes they still have a few holes to fill but they are very close to making a serious run imo
was listening to Bobcat today and i had to laugh at all the idiots who were calling in and whining about Allaire and his butterfly system....these were all the same idiots who were calling in last year at around this time saying Reimer was the next coming of Christ...he was playing the exact same system back then as well you morons !
fact is neither one of them is playing well...my main issue is the depth of their positioning...their "white" and "grey" zones are all out of whack
and imho, the both of them are "protecting" instead of "playing" the Hybrid/Blocking system that Allaire teaches

Wilson ?...well that's a whole different story...everyone here knows how i feel about him so i won't go into it
but let me say this...i REALLY like what BB has done for this organization..i think he is one of the smartest GMs in the league...but if this slide continues and he doesn't fire Ron Wilson then he should be fired as well

What you guys think of Jeff Carter going to LA for Jack Johnson?

LA finally gets a legit offensive threat besides Kopitar.

I don't like BB but I do agree he has done a decent job. The guy basically inherited an expansion team and has built it up pretty good. The Allaire complaint I"m not going to get into. I don't know nearly enough about Goaltending to complain. I'd say Reimer is garbage and Monster could be something (just my take they both don't cut it anyways).

Schenn is playing like a 5th or 6th defenseman now but he still has a ceiling. You can't give up on defenseman as they are really hard to find. Leafs have acouple of nice young ones too. I cringe when young defensemen are just tossed around for players looking to revive their career.

yee especially shutdown defensemen, schenns shown that he can be one just not consistently.

Also everyone for packaging our young players for nash are out of there minds, gardiner is gonna be a stud, kadri hasn't had one full season, we have yet to see colbourne, why give up the future for a chance at sneaking into the playoffs with a guy that's playing on the same level as grabovski? makes no sense, especially when nash doesn't even fill a need.

not saying grabovski's better because obviously he isn't, look at the stats from last season and this season and you'll see what I'm talking about. I'm just saying it would fuck us over in the future if we give up the up and comers for nash.Say we landed him, we would have one amazing line and a 2nd slightly above average line, with no depth whatsoever, it's the kessel situation all over again, why don't we stay patient and see what the kids can do, we're still in a rebuild until the ahl-ers develop so why get away from that when they're pretty close to making the jump.

here are the numbers btw

last season

Nash:
GP G A P +/- PIM PP SH GWG S Hits BkS GvA TkA
75 32 34 66 +2 34 6 0 7 305 91 19 24 47

Grabo:
81 29 29 58 +14 60 10 0 4 239 44 25 45 49

This season

Nash:
61 20 22 42 -23 32 4 0 1 232 93 13 21 53

Grabo:
55 18 22 40 +6 18 4 0 1 122 32 26 39 34

Nash has just had the unfortunate circumstance of playing with no one for his career. It's sad, because he was about to hit 40 twice, and was on pace for 47 before being hurt in 05-06. I think, had he had two skilled players on his line, maybe a setup man like Giroux, he'd be deadly. Closer to 350-400 goals then shy of 300 had that been the case.

A line with Nash-Richards-Carter would be pretty great.

For Rick's sake, I hope he gets traded to a team with a supporting cast. He isn't getting any younger and I'd like to see him spend the last 6-10 years of his career with a good team. He gave a lot to CBJ, but they just didn't build around him(sound like another Ohio sports team star..?)

I'll address the numbers part first:

I think this comparison is just terribly flawed because Nash plays for a shit squad. It has to be a depressing situation. The talent is there. Nash is a first line talent. Grabo is not, in my opinion.

Your power play would be insane with Nash and Kessel.
