i don't really follow much hockey aside from checking up with my oilers, and that shit he was saying about lowe (whether true or not) just made him look like a big douche.

Ilya would be better off finishing off his contract. He's a UFA in 2010, same as Rick Nash.

Burke is Burke. he loves the sound of his own voice. MLSE will throw the farm at him.

My buddy Husky (Kent Huskins) who's with the Ducks says the guy's is a dick. Not too many people within the Anaheim organization likes Burke at all.

OK, this is just ridiculous.

Eventhough I've always hated the Leafs I've always had a certain respect for Wendel Clark. Hands down one of the toughest and best fighters the game has seen in our day. A couple decent seasons offensively I'll admit, but does he honestly deserve having his number retired?

Yes, without question..... probably the most loved Leaf of all-time. Never stepped on the ice and gave it anything less than 100%. As good a Captain as you could want.

Certainly my favourite Leafer. If he isn't deserving, I don't know who is. Great example of stats being misleading.

It just shows the team I grew up loving sucks and the other I hated has a nice storied past.

Here you have two teams: The habs and the leafs. One team retires a Top 3 of all time goalie with 2 cup rings and the leafs honour Clark: a nice player who won nothing but really did it all.

Hey I love Clark and his open ice checks made Scott Stevens hits look lame but man I can't believe what kind of crappy hockey I watched growing up.

Well, Gilmour is getting his number retired and he played what? 4-5 seasons in Toronto?

Clark is considered a hockey god in Toronto - I grew up a Leafs fan and even though he wasn't my favourite player, he gave his all to that franchise - his style of play is what cut his career short. Toughest player in the NHL in his hayday.

Can Neely had chunks of guys like Wendel Clark in his stool.

BTW, I'm so pleased the Bruins spoiled thet dipshit Roy's retirement night by winning.

Its Toronto fans supporting Mediocrity. Gilmour was awesome yes during that 93 run and 94 wasn't bad either.

However; it was just the semi finals big deal.

Cam Neely also had a better support cast than Clark. Neely had chunks of guys like Clark in his stool? Hardly. On most nights, Clark had to do it all on lousy Leafs teams - score, be the enforcer, sparkplug, play a bit of D, he also had to sell popcorn in the Golds. Neely was a better goal scorer than Clark by far but Clark was a tougher player.

Don't let his knack for scoring goals overshadow the fact that Neely fought, hit and caused shit just like Clark.

It was a big deal. For a franchise that doesn't have much to celebrate, it's welcomed.

I think an even bigger deal was made because of the possibility of a Habs/Leafs Final.
