I'm so happy the Wings won. The scary thing is that this team will be even stronger next season considering they have alot room with their cap still and all there big players are still signed for a few more years.

Go Wings! Gotta love 'em. And with a front office with Jim Nill and Kenny Holland, plus Steve Yzerman and Scotty Bowman, they're gonna be in contention for years. They have been since 1992.

I'm actually quite surprised they didn't choke this year for once. They probably just thought "Alright, thats it, no more choking, we've been at the top of the standings for too long now, lets take this cup" And boy did they follow that.

Yay, I like the Wings franchise, so I'm happy with this. Certainly much happier than when Anaheim, Carolina, and Tampa won... grr.

Zetterberg is a pimp.

Nice pick up for the Leafs if I say so myself. Ron Wilson's a great coach, but let's see if he can make shit shine this season.

I don't give a shit. This team has been too bad for too damn long now. He better get this team AT LEAST into 6th spot for the next playoffs. I'm sick and tired of all this Leafs crap. Thank god I got the NBA finals and the Euro to get my mind off of it all.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for the Leafs making any noise come next season. The smart thing for them to do it start from scratch instead of offering "has been's" ridiculous contracts. Deal the Blake's, McCabe's and Toskala's for draft picks and rebuild that way. If they continue managing and building this team like they have for the past 10 years then get ready for more years of mediocrity and disappointment.

I agree with everything there until you mentioned Vesa's name there.

I'm usually the type to say "Trade him, trade him" but I would have to make an exception to Toskala though. I think he played outstanding this past season, and if it wasn't for him I think we would've been out of the race much earlier than we were this year.

I think rebuilding is the way to go as well. It's just that I don't think I have enough patience to wait so long.

If Toskala can get us good yield of picks and youngsters.... send him out. Let Pogge be the man or plug in some scrub.

Doc is right.... Leafs NEED to blow up and rebuild. They have needed to for years. Shit, if they had done it 3 years ago, we'd probably be rounding into a serious force right now.

Trade him while his stock is high Major. He's already going to be nearing his mid 30's soon, so unless the Leafs are making a run for the Cup this season or next, trade him while you can get something decent in return because I guarantee by the end of next season you'll get next to nothing for him.

Leafs have to stop thinking in the present and start working on the future if they want to stop being the laughing stock on the NHL.

They can thank management for fucking the organization over. It was JFJ who was doling out No Trade Contracts and No Movement Contracts like they were going out of style.
The Leafs could have had 2/3 of their top line in place, but Sundin (who probably won't even be back) and Kaberle fucked the Leafs royally..not to mention Kubina as well.

Actually it was mostly Peddie who was the mastermind of this.

The Leafs just need to start all over again, a whole new team, coaches, managments, owners, everything. I can stand it. Hell, change the nickname and the logo while you're at it...

Sens have found their man in Hartsburg and are holding a press conference now to announce his hiring. As a Sens fan, I'd have to say that Craig is the best choice out of the three apparent finalists. (DeBoer and Hartley)

Babcock should've got the Jack Adams, I'm fine with the rest. Big ones were obvious as you can get (Ovechkin, Lidstrom, Brodeur), but all rightly deserving.

This years awards were probably the easiest to choose like the Hart, Vezina, Norris, Calder Lady Byng, Pearson etc.
