Hixon was a beast in place of Burress last week anyways. Lets just hope Jacobs is ready to go on Sunday though.

Burress has always been a pain in the side but he can get you out of tons of trouble though.

Yeah, but how much craps is Giants management going to take from Burress. He's a fantastic player - i will give him that - he's a true talent - but if he's going to be a distraction, the team would be better served trading him in the off-season.

Trading 4 years of his contract isn't that easy though. You know the NFL is virtually impossible to trade players. Giants got a gift from the Saints getting a 2nd and a 5th for Shockey

Trades are rare in the NFL. Teams are built on drafts and free agents.

Since Plax doesn't bother the players and the team is doing well I think they'll do nothing

If things get worse by next the start of next season they might trade or release him

Haha you could be right. However; Burress is no where near a focal point of the Giants offense. Giants like to control that line of scrimmage with the run and when they pass its usually 20 yards in. A very consistent play. Eli rarely geats a play to go past 20 yards and Burress well is really only there to make the really difficult catch. Guys like Smith Boss and Toomer are much more realiable. As much as I like Burress as a part of the Giants (as that secret weapon kind of factor) a team has to be really dumb to think he can "light it up" so to speak.

Some college football stuff

With a three way tie who do you think the Big 12 South winner should be?

#2 Texas vs Oklahoma (neutral game) W 45-35 @ Texas Tech L 39-33
#3 Oklahoma vs Texas (neutral game) L 45-35, vs. Texas Tech W 65-21
#7 Texas Tech vs. Texas W 39-33, @ Oklahoma L 65-21

The winner will most likely beat Missouri in the Big 12 Championship game and ultimately play in the BCS Championship Game

I think it should be Texas

Did anyone see the Oklahoma/Oklahoma State game, 61-41, crazy game

A good story

Florida State's Rolle to accept his Rhodes Scholarship, bypass senior season

Florida State safety Myron Rolle said he is planning to accept his Rhodes Scholarship and study in Oxford, England, starting next October and bypass his senior year of eligiblity.

Rolle, an aspiring neurosurgeon, was awarded the scholarship last weekend. He is the first Florida State football player to be so honored.

Rolle said he cannot delay the Rhodes Scholarship and is trying to decide if he will participate in the next NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis in February. He is also considering training before and after his studies at Oxford and trying out for the NFL afterward.

"I want to be a neurosurgeon," Rolle said. "And I want to help impoverished nations build up their vaccination programs. I think in many poor countries, vaccination programs and mental health programs are wrongly pushed aside."

Detroit Lions will finish 0-16

Why?

An absolutely terrible defense.
You want to hear an amazing statistic -- opposing quarterbacks have put up a 111.2 passer rating against the Lions. To give you an idea, only four quarterbacks in NFL HISTORY (Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Steve Young and Joe Montana) have ever put up that high a rating in a season. And, you might note, the Lions have not faced any of those four. They HAVE faced J.T. O'Sullivan, Kyle Orton, Gus Frerotte and Jeff Garcia. They do face Peyton Manning and the Colts in December, which could cause the earth to explode.

Scheduling. The Lions have four games left. All four are against teams that still have playoff dreams. They play the Vikings at home, and the Vikings are tied for the division lead. They play at Indianapolis, and the Colts have won four in a row and look like the Colts again. They play New Orleans, the league's No. 1 offense in yards. Then they finish at Green Bay, where the Lions have not won in 17 years.

It's a good setup. This could really happen. Now it's just up to the Lions to try and finish off this disaster.

"I don't look for disaster," Marinelli said to reporters. "I look for disease." And I think these are comforting words this holiday season.

1. the NCAA should have a college playoff system much like the CIS does - that means there would be a TRUE #1.

2. Good for Myron Rolle - you rarely hear about stories like his - his life would be more rich by choosing the path less travelled and becomming a neurosurgeon.

3. The Lions will finish 0-16. They have some good pieces, 2 first round draft selections this coming draft, so let's hope they can put something good together.

Man the BCS thing is stupid, they put Oklahoma ahead of Texas when Texas beat them at a neutral site.

The Giants look like they don't need Plax. He might go to jail for 3 1/2 year because NYC is strict with gun control

The Bills are pissing me off. How do you score 3 points against San Fran

Pitt's defense looks good, but they're O-line worries me

Pats, Bucs to play in London in '09

The New England Patriots will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next season at Wembley Stadium, the third straight year the NFL will stage a regular-season game in the British capital.

The game will be played Oct. 25. The Bucs will be listed as the home team, giving up a game in Tampa.

"Over the past two years, we have seen first-hand the excitement that exists for our sport in the UK," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday in a statement. "The games have helped us to deepen our connection with our UK fans as well as create new ones. We are looking forward to another outstanding game in 2009."

The NFL is also expected to play a regular-season game in London in 2010.

The Buccaneers are owned by the Glazer family, the same group that runs defending Premier League champion Manchester United.

Patriots’ brass is saying the right things, including Robert Kraft noting the club is “excited” about playing in Wembley, but voices from the locker room are not on the same page. G Logan Mankins: “I don’t really want to go to London if I didn’t have to.” One thing to watch -- a report says this could be the first of two games played in the U.K. next season.

What a dipshit Burress is. Pierce and Bradshaw better not get brought down with Plaxico. This also better not affect the Giants season either. We can survive without Burress, but the other two are crucial figures with this team right now.

Well Bradshaw not as much IMHO. You could just get ward and Jacobs to do all the running and Hixon to do punt and kickoff returning. However; Pierce is like the QB of the defense. AP usually is the one screaming out audibles when reading offenses. What a HUGE loss it would be for the Gmen of AP is a goner

Plax is going to jail for 3 1/2 years, Bloomberg will make sure of it.
Nothing will happen to Pierce, at least until the trail starts, which could be in a couple months

NYC has strict gun contol laws. Carrying a gun w/o a licence gets u 3 1/2 years in jail. Bloomberg doesnt want crime on his steets but I think Plax's lawyers will bring the sentence down to 2 1/2 years

I'm talking about what will happen to Pierce. Many reports indicate that he "may not be out of the woods" yet. Also Bradshaw and another unnamed NYG have also been involved.

Plaxico is done thats a given
