Don't get me wrong DVS ... I've been fan of the Gmen since I was in Grade 7 in '86 when I first got into football. I'm just not a fan of teams or players that are arrogant and cocky which I'm hoping our boys don't fall victim too soon.

You know what Doc? It isn't cocky if you can back it up. The G-men deserve to be cocky. They're the reigning champs and they're kicking ass and taking names so far this season.

Well I dunno I really enjoyed the D Line and Jacobs taking shots at the Cowboys last year in the post season. It was just sweet reading and listening to the trash they talked.

I'm with MK it ain't being cocky when you can back it up. When you can tear apart a good team like the Cards at their House (even though the Gmen play better on the road) without your two of your biggest offensive threats its really nice.

It looks like it'll happen

Look out for the Saints. My surprise team of the year is finally winning.
The Chargers are pissing me off this year, I pick them to go to the SB and they lose every game by less than 4 points.

Coming at You! NFL Looks at 3-D

Next week, a game between the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders will be broadcast live in 3-D to theaters in Los Angeles, New York and Boston. It is a preliminary step on what is likely a long road to any regular 3-D broadcasts of football games.

Saints will get rocked if they ever match up against a team like Tampa or the Bears (a team with a decent-solid D)

Green Bay was supposed to be the best pass defense, but Brees threw for 4 TDs, 2 were 70 yard TDs

I'd be willing to be that if that game was at Lambeau, it would have been a different story.

Plea to state dogfighting charges makes Vick eligible for halfway house

SUSSEX, Va. -- Former NFL quarterback Michael Vick pleaded guilty Tuesday to a state dogfighting charge, a move that could make him eligible to leave prison early and potentially speed up a return to pro football.

Vick already is serving a 23-month sentence in Leavenworth, Kan. for bankrolling a dogfighting operation at a home he owned in eastern Virginia's rural Surry County, southeast of Richmond. He also admitted to participating in the killing of several underperforming dogs.

He's scheduled for release on July 20, 2009, and will serve three years of probation. The latest plea is important because it resolves the remaining charges against him, which is required under federal law if he is to move into a halfway house. He received a three-year suspended sentence Tuesday.

Will we see him back in the NFL?
If not I want to see him in the CFL.

Stats of the week

Kansas City gained 462 yards Sunday, averaged 8.4 yards per offensive play, and lost by 23 points.

Detroit and Kansas City are on a combined 2-36 streak.

The Kansas City defense is on pace to finish the season with nine sacks; the all-time NFL season low is 13 sacks.

At 4-7, San Diego has a realistic chance of winning its division; at 7-4, Dallas, Indianapolis and Washington have almost no chance of winning their divisions.

Philadelphia has one offensive touchdown in its past nine quarters of play.

Oakland went a month between offensive touchdowns.

Drew Brees is on pace to throw for more than 5,084 yards, breaking Dan Marino's single-season record. Kurt Warner is also on pace to throw for more than 5,084 yards.

Bills rookie Leodis McKelvin ran an interception back for a touchdown against Kansas City. In his past two outings, McKelvin has three interceptions, two return touchdowns and 314 total return yards; that is sweet. On the interception return TD, Kansas City quarterback Tyler Thigpen had perfect blocking, no rusher near him, and forced the ball directly to McKelvin, which was sour. Beleaguered Buffalo fans get a consolation prize in the 54 points the Bills scored, but why were Buffalo players and coaches high-fiving on the sidelines? Buffalo had just beaten up on a 1-9 team. The Bills are a postseason long shot at 6-5. The Bills haven't defeated a team with a winning record. Accomplish something, then you can celebrate! And when Buffalo was leading 54-24 midway through the fourth quarter, what in blazes was the first-team offense doing on the field?

With Cassel's recent success do you thing trading Brady would be a bad thing?

Brady's first year as starter:
15 games/2843 yds/63.9%/18 TD's/12 INT's/86.5 QB rating/43 rushing yards

Cassel's this year:
11 games/2615 yds/66.3%/13 TD's/8 INT's/90.5 QB rating/199 rushing yards/2 TD's

Browns QB Quinn out rest of year

After only three starts, the Cleveland Browns quarterback will be shut down for the season with a broken index finger, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen on Tuesday.

FoxSports.com first reported that Quinn would be shut down.

Sources told ESPN that the team has not determined whether surgery will be necessary, but Quinn must stop all football activity for at least six weeks, ending his season.

Derek Anderson, who lost his job to Quinn in Week 10, will return to the
starting spot when the Browns host the Colts on Sunday.

Bills fans demand roof raised for game at Toronto

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - What was the NFL thinking when it scheduled the warm-weather Miami Dolphins to play their division-rival Buffalo Bills in the cozy confines of a domed stadium in December, and in Canada of all places?

That's the question numerous unhappy Bills fans have been asking since the schedule came out with Buffalo playing a "home" game against Miami at Toronto's Rogers Centre on Dec. 7.

With that in mind, two Bills season-ticket holders, Andrew Petrinec and Al Keohane, decided to do something about shifting the climate-controlled playing field in Buffalo's favor by organizing a petition to have the domed stadium's retractable roof open for the game.

"We're just trying to make a difference," said Petrinec, who's gathered about 1,000 signatures on the Internet and in person. "We're trying to do anything we can to help out the team and make a little noise so maybe the league will recognize that fans aren't extremely thrilled with it."

Bad enough that Buffalo fans were deprived of a game in Orchard Park against an AFC East opponent when the Bills secured a five-year deal to become the first NFL team to start playing annual regular-season games outside the U.S.

What's worse is the Bills losing their traditional cold-field advantage.

The Dolphins might have the edge in the series, with a 51-37-1 record against Buffalo. But they have certainly struggled at Orchard Park after Dec. 1, going 2-7, including two playoff losses.

"Having it in a domed stadium definitely does make it a little lopsided toward the Dolphins," Keohane said. "If (Toronto) gets the December Miami game against the Bills, then they should be in the cold, too."

As novel as their proposal might be, the petition won't pry open the roof, said Adrian Montgomery, spokesman for Rogers Communications, one of the game's hosts.

One problem in the event of snow or rain is the field's lack of a proper drainage system, Montgomery said. Another factor: the roof is locked in place after baseball's Blue Jays end their season.

"I wish we could open it," Montgomery said. "But please let them know that we recognize how important this game really is. And we will do everything in our power to replicate the frenzied atmosphere at Ralph Wilson Stadium."

What can't be replicated are the occasional snowstorms and biting winds that blow in off nearby Lake Erie at this time of year.

The mere proposal to open the roof sent chills through at least Dolphins defensive end Matt Roth.

"No! Don't do that," Roth said. "I hope it's closed for the fans' sake, for all those West Palm fans. We don't want them to open the roof."

You know what Bills fans should be happy that Toronto is at least generating Revenue they could only dream of getting at Orchard Park.

This in turn allows them to have a team. Do these people realize that tickets are 3 times the price at Rogers Centre than at Orchard Park?

Again, be glad Buffalo will have a team for the next 5 years largely due to the cash Teddy forked over to have rights to these games

On that note dam weren't those Thanksgiving NFL games just brutal. Lions are just horrid

Bills fans in Buffalo know theyre team is going so they get mad at not having a weather "advantage". Teddys $80 million let the Bills keep the players they have and recruit better players. Wilson is too cheep to spend money on players.

3 blowout games on Thanksgiving. I know Im thankfull for not being a Lions fan. Every time the Titans got a touchdown theyre were no Lions defenders to be found.

All 3 of those games were just downright terrible.

In regards to the Bills game and the roof being closed - there's no way it would happen - it's not designed to be an outdoor stadium and to take on inclimate weather - just like what the article stated.
In the end, it shouldn't matter - the Bills are still going to have homefield advantage - and if they're the superior team - and want to prove so, they should be able to beat Miami wherever the game is played - whether it's Buffalo, Toronto or in England.

Sources: Burress wounded in accidental shooting

New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress suffered an accidental gunshot wound Friday night in a club, according to multiple sources.

Details of the incident weren't immediately available, but according to a source the wound was not considered life-threatening.

Burress, who was not expected to play against the Washington Redskins on Sunday with a hamstring injury, was not at team meetings and did not attend the team's Saturday walkthrough.

The Giants organization was not commenting on the story.

Plax has been a distraction all season long.. how long do the Giants put up with his antics before they cut him? If he had a bummed hamstring, instead of being home, resting it, he's at a nightclub?

Giants' Burress accidentally shoots self in leg, man I thought someone else did it. Wow!

Plaxico Burress' controversial year has just taken a turn for the worse.

The New York Giants wide receiver accidentally shot himself in the leg on Friday night, FOXSports.com has learned, not long after being ruled out of Sunday's game against the Redskins with a hamstring injury.

He spent the night in the hospital and the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The team is still trying to gather further information on the incident.

Domenik Hixon, who is dealing with an ankle injury, will start in Burress' place.
