Shocking to me how well the Bengals are playing despite having Benson hurt for most of the game. They are the real deal.
Bengals I hear still have a ton of Legal problems regarding their players for what I hear. Fortunately being swept under the rug for now in the hope they get a favourite verdict in court.

Funny how winning cures all.

+1 about Billichek. It's a play the practice often, and it just so happened that the Indy D stepped up. Usually the Pats magic pulls them through.

Fuck the Bengals. They're playing fantastic ball right now. You hope they don't pull what they did a couple of seasons ago when they had a home game and blew it. But sweeping my Ravens and putting the boots to the Steelers - it's all very impressive.

you would think with Lewis at the helm they would have a good defense and it looks like they got a good one this year, even with Odom out for the year

this should be fun

Wow. Is Benson really that hurt?

Re: Legal Issues.

While half the team got arrested in the offseason I don't think it's very serious. The No Fun League takes action against the littlest infraction thus I believe if there were any merit to the bengals off-field behavior, measures would have been taken.

Rumours have Cincy grapping Larry Johnson

Back to BB and the Pats. This stat will really open your eyes. I was totally shocked myself

Quote:
With 2:00 left and the Colts with only one timeout, a successful conversion wins the game for all practical purposes. A 4th and 2 conversion would be successful 60% of the time. Historically, in a situation with 2:00 left and needing a TD to either win or tie, teams get the TD 53% of the time from that field position. The total WP for the 4th down conversion attempt would therefore be:

(0.60 * 1) + (0.40 * (1-0.53)) = 0.79 WP

A punt from the 28 typically nets 38 yards, starting the Colts at their own 34. Teams historically get the TD 30% of the time in that situation. So the punt gives the Pats about a 0.70 WP.

Statistically, the better decision would be to go for it, and by a good amount. However, these numbers are baselines for the league as a whole. You'd have to expect the Colts had a better than a 30% chance of scoring from their 34, and an accordingly higher chance to score from the Pats' 28. But any adjustment in their likelihood of scoring from either field position increases the advantage of going for it. You can play with the numbers any way you like, but it's pretty hard to come up with a realistic combination of numbers that make punting the better option. At best, you could make it a wash.

Jauron shouldn't have been hired in the first place. Jim Haslett should have been the coach. Or even Rex Ryan.

Buffalo is such a mess. I'm curious to see who they can get to do this job.

Jim Harbough definitely needs to get a look... i always liked him, even when he was a shitty QB.

I think Harbaugh is being groomed to take over at Michigan.

A name I just heard for the Buffalo job is Mike Shanahan. At least he'll be used to the cold.

Another name is Marty Schottenheimer.

This team needs a culture change. They haven't been to the playoffs since Flutie was the QB.

usually good coaches are never great players
Belichick, like most coaches, never played in the NFL
Sean Payton played in the arena league for 1 year

Singletary is probably the only all pro player that is a coach right now

Harbaugh signed an extension at Stanford and off course he's been mentioned for the Notre Dame job, but there is that Michigan connection
