Jackson to denver maybe?...that would be a sweet deal for denver, whose starting qb orton sucked ass last game....Josh mcdaniels has proven that he can help average or below average qbs become really good...and i think this would be a great situation for Jackson as well....2 years from now the Vikings are gonna be kicking themselves in the head for this.....

wow, really?

I think he can get PT on other teams instead of being a back up to Flacco
might as well back up Favre since he's old and banged up

Pakers will have a fun time picking off Favre
you guys dont see that Favre in Minny is going to be solid??
let the DB's worry about INT's, and have the linebackers play a bit deeper.... then Adrian Peterson will run the opposition into the ground. its that simple.
Favre wont be throwing picks when the Defense's game is aimed at stopping Peterson and not about playing Pass Defense.

i personally dislike Jackson.... but he isnt going anywhere.
everyone knows he's a work in progress - even he knows this.
they'll sell this season to him as his chance to "learn" under Favre and get taught by the Hall of Famer himself.
he isnt going anywhere.... Minny knows this is a one-time shot with Brett and couldnt pass it up. Jackson will just wait a little while longer, thats all.

Childress sure as hell tried though.....but every time he showed promise he would somehow manage to get hurt.....thats why hes not as good as he could be...

Jackson's a work in progress, but Favre is signed for another 2 seasons, so Tavaris would be better off going elsewhere.. like a Denver, especially if Orton falls flat on his face, and he'd have a better shot at being the starting QB. As for the writer who suggested him going to Detroit - they have Culpepper - who's the starter this year and Stafford, so there will probably be no room for him.

No!

Jeez brother. I know what the Ravens situations is. I've been a Ravens fan since.. well, a Browns fan and then followed them to Baltimore, so since 95.

Jackson would be like a Vick clone.. some team could try to acquire him and use him in the wildcat formation..unless the Vikings decide to employ that kind of strategy themselves.

i'm so over the wildcat offence.
its a gimmick IMO, and it'll eventually die out when people realize it doesnt work in the NFL like it does in college.
Miami had some success with it last year because teams didnt expect it and didnt have plays to stop it... until the end of the year when they realized that was miami's bread and butter.

Angry Brett Favre is Back!

I hate that guy! It get's so annoying. He can go down as the greatest QB ever or comeback and get more and more interceptions. He can't play anymore! He should live with it or join a league where he would be good like the AFL.

Williams sisters to own part of Dolphins

MIAMI -- Venus and Serena Williams have found a new sport: pro football.

The tennis-playing sisters will become the latest celebrities to own a stake in the Miami Dolphins, several sources told ESPN.com senior writer Greg Garber on Wednesday.

A person close to the negotiations told The Associated Press an agreement was near but not yet final. That person did not want to be identified because the announcement has not been made.

"There have been preliminary talks, and hopefully it'll work out," Serena Williams said Wednesday night after a 6-3, 6-2 win over Yaroslava Shvedova in Toronto. "That would be a great opportunity for both of us. You never know. We'll see what happens."

The Williamses live in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., about an hour's drive from the Dolphins' stadium. Their new role will be significant in part because the NFL has no African-American majority team owner.

In the past, Serena Williams has professed a love of the Dolphins on her blog.

Musicians Gloria and Emilio Estefan and Marc Anthony recently bought small shares of the team. New Dolphins owner Stephen Ross also forged a partnership with singer Jimmy Buffett.

The Dolphins have said the involvement of the celebrities reflects the diversity of South Florida and shows that the franchise is connected with the community.

"There's always so many opportunities out there, and Venus and I are always trying to expand our brand and do the best that we can do, and if an opportunity presents itself, we would love to see where it can take us," Serena Williams said. "Who knows what's going to happen, but hopefully we'll be able to hopefully continue to expand our brand."

A Dolphins spokesman said the team had no comment regarding next week's announcement.

The Williams sisters have combined to win 18 Grand Slam titles, and they staged their latest sibling showdown last month at Wimbledon, where Serena beat Venus in the final.

Serena, the reigning U.S. Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon champion, has won 11 major titles and Venus seven.

Ross, a New York real estate billionaire, completed his purchase of the Dolphins from Wayne Huizenga in January and began a partnership in May with Buffett. The agreement with the Estefans was announced in June, followed by the deal with Anthony last month.

Buffett and the Estefans are longtime Dolphins fans. The Williams sisters aren't known to closely follow the Dolphins or the NFL.

While the sisters have won more than $45 million in official prize money, it's likely their investment will be relatively minor. Ross has said the minority owners are strategic partners and aren't being brought aboard because of a financial need. He has pledged to improve the fan experience at games, and the celebrities will help -- although it's unlikely the sisters will be staging tennis exhibitions at halftime.

Buffett has yet to accept Ross' invitation to become a minority owner, but the Dolphins' stadium has been renamed Land Shark Stadium for this season. Buffett has written a song for the Dolphins, and they've introduced a new version of their fight song by the rapper T-Pain.

Anthony will perform the national anthem when the Dolphins host the New York Jets on ESPN's "Monday Night Football" on Oct. 12.

What's next, a Donte Stallworth beer koozie? If you own a dog and a twisted sense of humor, the NFL is ready and willing to help turn your four-legged friend into a Michael Vick fan for the small fee of $39.99 plus tax and shipping. That's the price you'll pay for the "custom pet jersey" selling on the NFL's Web site at NFLshop.com, where a Daily News reporter placed an order Wednesday for a Philadelphia Eagles dog jersey, size large, with the No. 7 and the name "VICK" on the back.
