Vick was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles last week to add a different dimension to the team's offense, not to push McNabb for a starting job. It's likely that Vick, a three-time Pro Bowl quarterback in six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, will be used in a variation of the Wildcat formation.

do i need to say anymore?..

people think wildcat and i swear they get all stupid, your article says absolutely nothing past the idea of it, which is questioned throughout.

as i said before, lining vick up as a running back in the wild cat is not different than lining him up as the quarterback

mcnabb is talking about playing wide-out, tight-end whatever in these formations. what do you think this is going to do? trick people? oh no, vick is lining up as a running back, mcnabb is a tight end, we're fucked! this is just stupid. one way or another, this will put them in a weaker situation being that wide-outs and tight ends block, run routes and catch the ball....not something your quarterback does. not only that, it leaves them open to get hit hard and knocked around.

whatever, get excited over your wildcat stupidity, last i look matt jones is still unemployed and he's the ideal player for it.

seriously? can you read?

i said matt jones is the ideal player for it. maybe we should leave it alone. you're not going to convince me that it's some full-proof system that takes teams to the playoffs. you're excited about vick, it's understandable, he's an exciting piece of shit.

Oakland Raiders defensive assistant Randy Hanson was treated in a Napa hospital emergency room on Aug. 5, telling police he was struck by a member of the staff during a meeting earlier that day, according to sources.

Napa police Lt. Brian McGovern confirmed that a member of the Raiders staff claimed to police that he was injured by another staff member, but McGovern would not name the victim and would not release the report itself, citing confidentiality.

However, according to a police source and another source with knowledge of the situation, Hanson was the Raiders staffer treated in the emergency room at Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, Calif., near the Raiders' training camp site, on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

A police report was filed from the hospital early the following morning, around 1 a.m. PT on Aug. 6, when police arrived, but no charges have been filed as of this time, McGovern said.

Numerous attempts to reach Hanson were unsuccessful. Raiders senior executive John Herrera, when asked about the police report, said, "It's an internal matter and will be handled as such."

Hanson told police he was struck by a member of the staff during a meeting at the team's hotel in Napa and that he decided to seek medical attention when pain in his jaw was too severe for him to sleep. Law enforcement officials were dispatched to Queen of the Valley Medical Center by hospital personnel, and not Hanson himself, McGovern said, as is mandated in cases where assault is suspected. The extent of any injuries is not detailed on the report, as X-Rays had not yet been read to determine whether or not the victim had suffered a broken jaw, McGovern confirmed.

According to police, the victim in such a case has up to six months to report a misdemeanor assault. If his jaw was broken, that would constitute a felony, and the victim would have up to a year to press charges.

Hanson, 41, is in his third year with the Raiders. He served previously as a defensive backs coach. He also spent one year with St. Louis and three years with Minnesota.

this is kinda harsh...not looking good for the raiders...

randle el and pat white are good wilcat options
wilcat won't feature much this year
outside of the fins/pats game it wasn't that successful
defenses have had a full offseason to prepare for it
if anything it will provide a distraction, teams will use practice time preping for it and it might not be used in game

i've never liked vick. i always hoped he'd wake-up like mcnabb one day and realize in order to succeed, he'd have to learn how pass the ball instead of just throwing it. vick could, but he was an idiot. after five seasons of watching him tuck the ball and ignore his receivers, misuse his line, you'd understand.

A source close to Brett Favre said the quarterback, pending a physical, will sign a contract with the Minnesota Vikings for between $10 million to $12 million, according to ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

I hate this. Aaron Rogers is gonna out play Favre in every single meeting.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Brett Favre is coming back for more, as the 39-year-old quarterback turned his back on retirement for the second time in as many years.

The Minnesota Vikings have signed three-time NFL MVP Brett Favre, the team announced on its website Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Vikings will hold a 6 p.m. ET press conference to announce the move.

Sporting a red No. 4 practice jersey, Favre joined his new teammates on the field. Favre took some snaps from center and delivered passes to receivers. Vikings backup QB John David Booty, who formerly wore No. 4 for the Vikings, had changed to jersey No. 9.
