Big game today. @ Wisconsin. Nothing fun with a road Big 10 game at a tough atmosphere.

Hope we kick their @$$ today. Wisconsin has the worst fans in the B10. O-H-I-O

I know this is the College Football thread but Windex I know you follow College Basketball also.

Senior F Robbie Hummel from Purdue tore his ACL AGAIN at practice. He is out for the whole year. Huge lost for Purdue. They were probably big 10 favorite and had a good shot to make one last year with their big 3 who are all seniors. Huge lost.

wow. Huge disappointment tonight. Whole team played bad except two players(Boom Herron and Dane Sazenbacher). TP was bad, defense was bad, ST was horrible.

No NC this year. Just hopefully win the B10 again.

even if they were healthy they would have a tough time with Michigan State this year

I saw the BCS standing and saw Ohio State at 10, I was surprised
what happened

1 Oklahoma
2 Oregon
3 Boise State
4 Auburn
5 TCU
6 LSU
7 Michigan State
8 Alabama
9 Utah
10 Ohio State

looks like Oklahoma (played 2 toughest games already) and Oregon or SEC champ

The computers like Oklahoma more then the other teams because of the schedule they have played so far.

They destroyed Florida State, beat Texas, Air Force, and a 3-3 Cincinnati team on the road. Now this week they get a undefeated Missouri team which will only help them even more if they win.

So far more impressive wins then most undefeated teams.

Are you friggin kidden me? Oaklahoma was a top 15 team, and BARELY beat half those teams, thats not even near justifiable, the whole BCS ranking system is a load of crap....

Oklahoma has looked like the best team in the country for eight quarters, when it was demolishing Florida State 47-17 and Iowa State 52-0 on Saturday. But the Sooners struggled in beating Utah State by seven points, Air Force by three, Cincinnati by two and Texas by eight (this is when Texas was shite).

too bad TCU's opponents like BYU aren't as strong as usual

if LSU beats Aurburn @ Auburn, they could be #1, depending on how Oklahoma does against Mizzou (too bad for them, Florida sucks this year) even Auburn has a shot

still not finished yet, I could see Bama back in the top 2

still have @ #6 LSU, #24 Mississippi State, #4 Auburn, SEC championship
beat 18 Penn State, #10 Arkansas, #7 Florida (all these teams went down though)
playing 7 ranked teams, they should be allowed to lose 1 game

looks like Cam Newton is leading Heisman contender, dudes sorta like McNabb

A win is a win. Oklahoma doesn't have to blow every team out like Boise State does to not get passed in the Coaches Poll.

Oklahoma opponents combine record: 23-16(and get Missouri this week who is 6-0)
Boise State opponents combine record: 16-24(get 3-4 LT to only hurt that SOS even more)

That is why the computers love Oklahoma right now. They're beating teams with winning records. Florida State and Texas are very good wins. More impressive wins so far then Boise State, TCU, LSU, Utah, Michigan State and could argue Auburn(South Carolina & Arkansas) & Oregon(Standford).

Also IF Oklahoma beats Missouri this week the computers are going to love them even more and the Coaches Poll will probably put them ahead over Boise State. In fact I could see Oklahoma & the winner of Auburn/LSU moving to the #2/#3 spots in the Coaches Poll which will help them in the BCS standings even more.

Like I said Oklahoma is top 3 and first in almost all the computers they use. That is 1/3 of the BCS. Oregon & Boise State are lower. Boise State and TCU are just going to start getting pass up even more now. Sucks for them but its going to happen. The interesting question is if Oregon, Oklahoma, and one of the SEC schools(Auburn or LSU) win out who gets in.

I am not saying I think Oklahoma is the best team but they have played a better schedule on paper then most teams. Its the computers that love them and if they keep winning they will move to at least #2 in the coaches(another 1/3 of the BCS).

I don't think Bama will jump over any of the big time teams who go undefeated(like Oklahoma and Oregon and possibly Michigan State). BUT If Michigan State & either Oklahoma or Oregon lose then Bama will get ahead over a 12-0 TCU & Boise State teams for sure. Basically if Bama wins out then I believe there is a good chance they will be back in the NC. I don't think Michigan State will go 12-0(Iowa on the road will be tough for them with one of the best rushing defense) and Oklahoma/Oregon still have some tough conference games. I think one of them with lose. That is all Bama needs.

even if the Spartans go undefeated they wont be in the top 2, they would have only beat 2 ranked teams, Wisconsin and Iowa

an undefeated Auburn/LSU will take a top 2 spot or Bama (they're going to play 7 ranked teams) can take it
toss up between Oregon and Oklahoma, whoever has the better record or SOS

Oklahoma can stay up, but an undeafed Auburn/LSU or Bama (they're going to play 7 ranked teams) will take it
I can't see Bama with one lost over Michigan State if they go undefeated. I think Bama is better but I don't know if it would happen. I would be surprise.

Right now to me guessing if Oklahoma wins out they will be in. If LSU/Auburn win out they will be in. If Oregon wins out and Oklahoma or Auburn/LSU are not undefeated then they will get in. Michigan State will get in to me if they're one of two undefeated teams from BCS schools. Bama gets in if there is only one undefeated team in a BCS conference(which I think will happen btw). Boise State needs a lot of teams to lose and they're the only undefeated team. Then they might have a shot.

But I don't think it will matter cause I think Michigan State will lose. And there is still a lot of college football so a lot more can happen.

To me rankings when you play a team don't really matter. Where are they at the end of the year is what matters.

- Bama win over Penn State won't be much. Michigan State beat them also so they cancel out.
- Arkansas probably won't be rank at the end of the year
- Florida is probably going to finish 7-5 or 6-6 maybe. So that win will not be impressive in the end.
- Mississippi State probably won't be rank at the end of the year. Most likely finish 8-4 and are just outside of the top 25.
- Auburn and LSU will be very good wins.

I think if Bama wins out they will jump Boise State & TCU. Oklahoma? No Oregon? No Michigan State? Maybe but I would lean to No right now if MSU wins outs.

Bama is ranked 8, Michigan St 7 and Bama still has to play the #4 and #6 teams
they can still jump them since SOS is in the formula

I see Oregon losing in the civil war and Oklahoma to Ok St or some team like Baylor

Its possible. I made another post after that and I think it will be close.

I think the coaches poll would keep Michigan State(12-0) ahead of Bama(11-1).

Bama is ahead of Michigan State in the Harris poll by one. MSU rank #8. Bama rank #7.

Right now the Computers actually like Michigan State. They have them #4 behind Oklahoma, LSU, & Auburn(Bama is in the 20's I believe).

So if Michigan State stays ahead in the coaches, computer poll, and not far behind Bama in the Harris poll then I think they would stay ahead.

Yeah like I said still a long way to go. Oregon still has @Oregon State,@USC, and Arizona left.

Oklahoma still has @Missouri, Oklahoma State, and the Big 12 title game(Will play either Missouri again or Nebraska).

Both still have tough games left and both could easily lose a game.

this is why an 8 team playoff is needed
take out a couple of those cupcake games everyone plays and do the playoffs, season will still start and end at the same time
takes those dumb automatic conference bids out (Big East)

Oklahoma vs Bama
Oregon vs MSU
Boise vs LSU
Auburn vs TCU

Yeah playoffs seem like the way to go but I don't think the NCAA will do it sadly. If people do want a playoffs they need to root for Michigan State, Oklahoma, Oregon, & LSU/Auburn as well as TCU/Boise State I guess to win out. I think if something like that happens it will force the hands of NCAA to go to a playoff in the future.
