anyone watch the UFC 101 preview show last night on sportsnet?
i PVR'ed it and watched the beginning... it started off with BJ Penn and his new training regimine. he's finally realizing (after getting worked over by GSP) that his fitness was never any good and that it was his weakness, and he''s been busting his ass in the training dept to get up to par. he's on a crazy regimine and looks like he's going to dominate.
should be an ass whooping... but a good fight nonetheless, because KenFlo can take a beating and keep fighting.

I'm digging the Silva/Griffin matchup.
Griffin is going to attack regardless of how good a counter-fighter Silva is, and wont back down.

i'm predicting:
BJ Penn: decision
Silva: 2nd round KO

I'm hoping Almeida knocks Grove out, because i cant stand Kendall Grove... and look out for Neer vs Pellegrino, that may end up bing the fight of the night.

BJ Penn has been training hard and he can jump out of the pool without his hands on to a 3 ft deck which is pretty impressive. However KenFlo is gonna whoop his ass. Silva is gonna beat Griffin, but at least Forrest will push the pace.

Fight Night is almost here.....

The Griffin/Silva match will be VERY interesting.... I can see Griffin going for the takedown and trying for a ground and pound victory. He should have a slight size and strength advantage so I would expect him to capitalize on that.

It's suicide to try and stand there in front of Silva and let him pick you apart.

Now I really want KenFlo to destroy BJ. You guys hear about BJ claiming that GSP uses steroids without any proof? Anyways, If Forrest wins it'll be by submission.

^^Your right Forrest is going to have to grab hold of one of those long limbs of Silva in order to win the fight.

I'm still speechless after watching that Silva/Griffin fight.

It was like watching Ali fight a 10th grader.

Anderson is without a doubt the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet now. No question.

And to be honest.... even with 20 more pounds I'm not sure that GSP could do any better.

The only question I have is.... why the hell didn't Silva kill the LAST 2 guys that he fought?

totally agree... Griffin was extremely outskilled and he pretty much gave up. he got punched right on the button, and while i wouldnt say it was a knock-out punch, it floored him and he knew he better just stay down and not get up.

he was getting embarrassed out there and wasnt going to be able to fight silva at all, he was getting owned. silva played around with him and taunted him the whole time, it was pretty sad.

silva's stand up game is awesome... forrest couldnt get one punch in... and the funny thing about it was that silva didnt even have his hands up, he was just dodging and swaying like Griffin's punches were coming in slow-mo... then boom, counter punch to the kisser everytime like lightning.

I think Griffin knew that he was getting embarrased and just mentally quit.
wow... silva is a beast.
GSP is smart not to try and move up, and he was there in person to see it with his own 2 eyes. i guarantee that fight will never happen.

I don't understand why Forrest would have ever thought that he could stand with Silva.

His whole gameplan should have been geared to closing the distance and taking him down.

Stupid... just plain stupid....

This is going to put a big black mark on to what's been a great career.

Griffin was already rocked before that jab which is why he just went down. The whole time Silva was just toying with him it was pretty sad actually. GSP isn't ready for Silva but he would do a way better job. Hendo is a great wreslter and he gave Silva some trouble in the first round of their fight by getting him to the ground. GSP could possibly do the same since he's a great wrestler too.

Well Griffin ran to his locker room after the fight because he was badly hurt, not cause he was embarassed

Update on Forrest Griffin (who was absent from the post-fight press conference) from the UG:
"I heard his jaw was dislocated very early in the fight…then he took several more punches to the jaw.
Apparently he can’t hear out of the ear on that side either. He left the octagon because he needed medical attention asap. At first they thought his jaw was broken, then said it was dislocated."

Update on Forrest Griffin (who was absent from the post-fight press conference) from the UG: "I... - Bloody Elbow

Forrest must have been on something
Silva was just playing around and it was somewhat amusing
I don't know if the GSP camp is still thinking of fighting Silva

Silva is going to be one of those sports figures that may never have a challenger. Maybe one day, after his career, there will be someone good enough to fight him. Then it will be too late.
