It's pretty crazy how much Anderson's style has changed. He used to be really aggressive and wild. Nowadays, he's a methodical counter-puncher.

As of Oct. 16, Silva made it clear that he's not very interested in fighting Jones or Chris Weidman, but St-Pierre may be an appealing option.

"I think all athletes in this division will get their opportunity in going for the title," Silva said. "I don't have any intention of fighting with him (Wiedman). I still think he has a lot to do in the UFC. I am in a comfortable position and I am no longer a child, I am 37 years old, he's a kid that is starting. Obviously, this might happen, but, I have two fights on my contract and I think one of them will be with St. Pierre and I don't really have an intention in fighting with him (Weidman) because I'm not a fool. I'm already an oldie, you know?"

I don;t know why everyone thinks a much smaller GSP has the responsibility to hurt his own legacy so Anderson can increase his own, and fill the UFC's coffers.

I mean if GSP is up for it and is chomping for the chance, fine, but I sure as hell this doesn't become a "forced" issue.

So it looks like it'll be Jones and Sonnen coaching the next TUF and then fighting in April?

Not really a fan.... and not sure how Sonnen talked his way into a title shot after being smashed by Silva.

Dunno about anyone else but I would have LOVED to see Big Nog drop down to fight him (or maybe at a catchweight 215). THAT's a guy that I think could really challenge him.

its strictly for ratings and politics.
TUF ratings have dipped season over season... whats the best way to ignite ratings and bring viewers back? get a villain. Sonnen will be the bad guy, talk smack, get people talking. he'll make people want to watch just to see how he acts, see what he says next.

second, ever since Jones turned down the fight a few months back, he's been hated. UFC needs to get their future 'golden boy' shining again. they need him to be the 'good guy'. Sonnen will be bad, Jones good. everyone will love jones again - which is what the UFC is banking on.
getting sonnen/jones as coaches is 2 birds with one stone.... sonnen will bring in ratings by acting the fool and being the villain, jones will play the classy-good guy role to get his fans back.

I like Carlos Condit, he's a helluva scrapper. But I think GSP will mop the floor with him. I don't think Carlos has faced a wrestler with as much core strength as GSP. I hope Carlos has his rubber guard working well, otherwise he'll mashed potatoes.

Good luck to him. GSP's injury has kept him out of the line up, he's been flying low and a lot of people are starting to brush him off it seems. Dude commands way more respect, he hasn't been even close to being pushed for years.

Condit might be good, but he ain't GSP good.

Agreed.

Still pulling for Condit though.

Don't get me wrong, I like GSP and enjoy watching him fight. I feel the same way for Condit, but the difference is, Condit's the more exciting fighter.

It would also be a nice shake up for the division if Condit was to be champ.
