Default No hitters, Perfect games

So whats with all these no hitters and perfect games the last few years? I mean people always make em out to be the rarest things ever (perfect games still are) but over the last 2-3 years theres been way more then I ever would of expected.

So this brings me to the question I ask you all. Whats causing this? The quality of pitchers getting better? Or the hitters just being reduced in power/ability due to lack of roids over the last few years?

I say the pitchers have earned each no hitter/perfect game thrown this season, the 5 that have been thrown have been by dominant pitchers, mental fatigue might be an issue for the batters beacuse of all the preparation and pitch guessing, but steroids is not the case at all, baseball is mainly mental, it might add some pop into your bat but if u weren't a good hitter to begin with (ex. Greg Zaun) and you take steroids it will not make you into a good hitter, now a guy like A-rod is a good hitter, the steroids got him to hit more homers but since he's been off the roids he's still hitting, not as many homers, but still hitting with the best of them

Ya I don't think it was due to roids either, I just felt to throw that in for debate sake. Out of the last few perfect games though buehrle's was my favorite by far.

1990 all over again. Even Andy Hawkins got a NO NO that year.

Dave Stieb after being denied with tons of perfect games and no no's finally got his.

Its just the year of the Pitcher.

Not sure what is causing it but it is better for the game in my opinion.

A low scoring baseball game is more exciting because it doesn't drag on for 4 hours.

If you can get in and out with the occasional run, I think it's the best.

with the level of technology out there these days i'd say it has a lot to do with better defence, analysis and scouting reports
the amount of data on hitter's tendencies etc etc etc is probably astronomical

It's just a pitching era now. Think about kids that are playing baseball today. It's alot harder to hit a HR than it is to throw a strike, it's the easier path to success, plus pitchers get paid a crap load as well and are always in demand.

haha, no I don't mind games that have a lot of jacks....I just hate watching a 40-pitch inning with 2 singles and a walk that no one scores in.
