NCAA Basketball

do people here watch college ball? I don't hear anyone talk about it or see a thread

season starts today
Florida International at (4) North Carolina
Murray State at (12) California
Alcorn State at (17) Ohio State
Albany at (25) Syracuse

my favorite player is Evan Turner, I think he's going to be great in the NBA.
He led the Big Ten in scoring last season and was third in rebounding, fourth in steals and eighth in assists.

It was preseason though
Big East is going to have a down year, I only see Nova and West Virginia as top teams
I think the Big 10 will be the best conference (Michigan State/Purdue/Ohio State/Michigan/Illinois/Minnesota) and Big 12 with (Kansas and Texas)

Well look at the NBA draft and all you see is the Big East. An off year for the Big East is like the Yankkees not making the world series but still in the playoffs. I think Nova is the strongest team this year and WVU I dunno I'm not too sold on although many people are.

We see what happens but since Cuse should be really average this year I'm going to think twice about buy the NCAA package. We see

Big east is a basketball conference and has 16 teams so they will always have good teams. Most conferences are 10-12 teams.
they did have a lot of players go the the big league but they didn't reload with top prospects
I think the 4 #1's will be Kansas, Michigan State, Texas and Nova

We see its a little early. You see what teams are made of with the League schedule kicks in January. PErsonally I really wish we got more coverage of NCAA (and I don't mean DUKE >> UNC >>> DUKE DUKE) but I guess if you really want to watch Conf. championships and Reg season its about 120 bucks for the season. Cheaper than Setanta

CBS yes and ESPN sometimes THE SCORE and Raptors TV pick up the games. Truthfully for myself its not enough

See in Canada the big ratings grabs are CURLING, HOCKEY, FIGURE SKATING. Once in a while Basketball gets a hit and Baseball gets a decent hit at well.

To be Short and to the Point. Canada is pretty lame

CBS usually has good games and the tourney so thats good
ESPN/ABC is the other network that shows big games so if you have those 3 you're set

I just like watching my team play rather then the team that is given to me. THat is all.

Also, you should call this thread DVS and Windex talk college hoops alone until the tourney comes around then everyone is an expert thread.

Turner had 14 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists in 30 minutes :yeah:
looks like Cuse took care of business

Cuse did what they were suppose to do. Boheim is notorious of producing a relatively soft schedule until of course League play comes into play where u really don't have many soft nights.

I think a tournament spot and a sweet 16 birth will be like winning a championship for the Cuse this year.

they do play @ Cal and @ Florida before the Big East season starts, so thats a test
Boeheim won his 800th game

Good for him but look at their scedule its hapless for the most part. I dunno how well Cuse will do I'm pretty flustered. Two years ago you have Green going out early which i think was a big mistake. Only now he is starting to get minutes in the NBA. Flynn well he is special and should have opted for the NBA. However; Devendorf stupidly declared and now he is without Cuse and searching for a job in Europe or the D league.

people leave early all the time
In Ohio State Oden (played half of a season) Conely, Mullens left too early

players just concerned with getting cash sometimes, you still got Rautins :yeah:

i'm a maryland fan, so i mostly follow the acc

i used to follow college ball a hundred times more intensely than nba, but i haven't been too encouraged with out recruitment for the past few seasons.

i'm a wolverines fan, so i've been depressed for years. started watching them in '89, had lots of great years, but things have been tough for a while. my buddy's dad pitched for michigan's baseball team, so that family was wolverines all the way. he introduced me to the ncaa's in '89, so i've been a fan ever since. feeling positive about this year though.

i watch when i can, but life is just too busy to have a job, a kid, watch every raps game, play in a band and still be able to commit big chunks of the weekend to ncaa ball. :(

No time to follow it heavily. I do park myself on the couch for most of March Madness though.

Michigan will have a good year and it looks like their basketball program might get back to the C Web/Jalen Rose days, they\'re headed in the right direction at least

I only get to see 10-15 Raptors games a year so it gives me more time to see college ball
