Bog East's only title hope is Cuse. not feeling UCONN, Georgetown always under preforms in the tournament and once Louisville had to play tough opponents they went back to reality

You say that now but they just begun the league season. As son as the League tournaments are over you will see different teams on different streaks. I really don't see Uconn underpreforming more than it is at present time

Amazing day of CBB today.

- FSU upsets #4Duke @ Duke with a buzzer beater 3
- Arkansas upsets #19Michigan by 2 at home, Michigan missed a buzzer beater 3 that would have won it. Arkansas started the game off 11/11.
- WVU beats Cincinnati in OT by 3. Hit a 3 with 9seconds left in regulation to send it to OT.
- Tennessee upsets #11 UCONN 60-57.
- #5 Missouri beats #3 Baylor @ Baylor 88-87.
- #7 Kansas barely beats Texas @ Texas. 69-66 final. Kansas was down by 1 but got a 3pt play with 37seconds left to take the lead.

- Right now DVS #1 Syracuse(undefeated still) is down by 10 @ ND in the 2nd half.

Toughest thing to do in CBB is win on the road, and conference games on the road are just that tougher. Gotta love CBB!

They got lucky. The Orange should have been hit with a Goaltending call late in the game. I sometimes wish Cuse was like Penn State or the U cause they really need Fab Melo back. Dam Melo just study

Can someone please tell me what's wrong with UConn? Just, absolutely terrible. Napier can't score for the life of him, Drummond is lost alot of the time and Lamb again, looks terrible and lost. Calhoun has them playing good defence, but they struggle offensively.

For those who care, Baylor/Texas A&M or on right now.

I dunno I thought they would be the one team to watch out for in the second half. Turns out they are just showing to be a slightly above average Big East team. The teams preformance will show a negative effect for Drummond to get the first overall pick as well.

THis is good news. Fab got some C's

Quote:
Syracuse has reinstated center Fab Melo after the 7-foot sophomore missed three games because of academic issues, the Post-Standard reported Wednesday, citing two anonymous sources.

The sources told the Post-Standard that the school will make an official announcement Thursday.

The second-ranked Orange (22-1, 9-1 Big East) went 2-1 without Melo, beating Cincinnati and West Virginia after losing to Notre Dame in the center's first game on the sidelines.

The academic issue occurred in the first semester, a source previously told ESPN.com's Andy Katz. The university has not provided further details, citing school policy and federal student privacy laws.

Melo was allowed to practice with the team during his suspension. He is averaging 7.2 points and 5.7 rebounds in 22.6 minutes per game.
Syracuse's next game is Saturday at St. John's.

Still wondering the same things. Lots of talent but offense is dead. Chemistry, bad streak, overhype, etc? What is it?

Here is a decent article on Uconn. From ESPN

Quote:
And so now the onus falls directly where it should have been in the first place: on the Connecticut players.

The unexpected news that Jim Calhoun is taking a leave of absence due to back pain leaves the Huskies standing at a pivotal crossroads. A season of promise has become a season on the brink, done in by a UConn team that has teetered between disinterest and disharmony.

Calhoun has practically begged his players to take ownership of their season, to provide their own leadership instead of constantly looking to him to recharge them. Against Georgetown on Wednesday, he tinkered with the lineup, yanking Alex Oriakhi and Shabazz Napier in the hopes of regenerating life.

Instead, the Huskies dropped their fourth straight, tumbling from the one-time high of 12-1 to the NCAA tournament precipice of 14-7. Now Calhoun is gone, at least for the next two games, and who knows how long thereafter. George Blaney once again steps into the void, filling in for his longtime friend and boss.

This is not the first time Calhoun has missed time from illness. In 2003, he was sidelined by prostate surgery, and in 2004 he was forced out during the NCAA tournament -- not exactly when most coaches want to fly the coop. That team, by the way, went on to win a national title.

In 2006, UConn was 14-1 when Calhoun missed a game with dehydration, and in 2008 the Huskies were 10-3 when he missed two games with the same ailment. Two years ago, the Huskies stopped a three-game skid when Calhoun took his medical leave.

Now that heís off the bench once again, the narrative will become about him. Understandably to an extent. He is a Hall of Fame coach with a history of health ailments that suggest his time on the sidelines is, or perhaps should be, nearing an end.

But what happens next in UConnís immediate future has nothing to do with Calhoun. What ails this team canít be fixed on a whiteboard by any coach.

Itís not about talent. The Huskies have that in abundance. Whatís missing is the joy and moxie that this underdog team rode to a national title a year ago. Where once there was Kemba Walkerís megawatt smile, even in the most dire of circumstances, now there are slumped shoulders and grimaces. It is more than Walkerís points UConn is missing; itís his attitude and his leadership. The players he left behind have failed miserably in taking ownership of either.

No one said this season would be easy. Being the hunted certainly is more difficult than launching the surprise attack. Now the Huskies have played themselves back into the underdog role. The bandwagon was emptying even before Calhounís announcement. Now itís as if someone has yelled "Fire" in Gampel Pavilion.

A season of promise is on the brink.

Whether Connecticut lands back on solid ground or slips over the edge is up to the Huskies
