I might actually see the Blue Jays on Sportcenter tonight, being that the Yankees won.

i don't think it means all that much to be honest. How many times do GM's back a coach only to fire said coach not that long after...

As for this team, i don't have anything to say. Stopped watching LONG ago... i will ask this. What's up with the pitching and hitting coaches? Shouldn't they be replaced?

Yes, along with the dumbass that hand picked them to come here (Gibons).

Don't understand why they would give Chad Mottola the hitting coach job. He was a terrible hitter.

Same almost goes for Pat Hentgen and Pete Walker. They weren't bad but they weren't that good either.

Edit: Bad post

^Lol just because they weren't good hitters doesn't mean they can't teach. They just didn't have the ability. That's like saying all good players would make good coaches.

Jays are currently ranked 14th for hitting, 29th in pitching and 26th in fielding
for the amount of talent on paper, these numbers are simply unacceptable...and imho, is a direct reflection of the coaching staff
and no, injuries are not an excuse

if AA is indeed keeping the staff then it's sending a rather dire message to Blue Jay fans..."we're ok with losing"

this staff needs to go...period

Cito Gaston was a .250 career hitter and become a very well respected hitting coach.

True yeah you're both right. Should've looked at it like that. Goes the same with the NBA sometimes. Anyways, after two straight wins, my reaction after the first inning yesterday:

still don't see how this is on gibbons at all.

we're also 2nd in the AL in errors...but what the hell is gibbons supposed to do, go out and field the ball for them? it's not gibbons' fault not one of our outfielders can hit a cutoff guy in the chest. if anything that's on AA for bringing in guys with no fundamentals or no care for fundamentals.

an interesting thought i heard on the radio the other day was that NONE of our core guys were developed through our system. listen that's what happens when you trade all your prospects away for proven veterans, i get that. but the issue is that you can't control the way these guys were developed in the first place, which I would attribute to no one knowing how to bunt, field, throw, etc. etc. It's hard to teach the fundamentals to a team full of veterans with piss poor fundamentals. Guys you put through the system are another story.

I like Gibbons.

The Rays/Orioles/Yankees/Red Sox play some serious unselfish baseball and it should be a wake up call going into next season. The clubhouse was a little too loose starting off, believing in their own hype.

Obviously dubA needs to talk to various people within and around the team and make a decision on Gibbs. If he has the respect of the team he'll stay, if he doesn't he'll go.
