He could play RF temporarily but than we would waste and option when we have to send him back down to the minors when Jose is ready. Gose offers little with the bat at this point but has a great glove. You diminish his value by placing him in RF when he could be hunting down balls in CF most guys wouldn't get.

I dont care about matchups in this case, Rasmus should be playing CF not Boneface.

I know he's a CF but what's the big difference? Couldn't he just play RF?

Maybe someone can explain it to me, I'll admit to being a newer fan of the game.
Because Gose needs to be able to hit against major league pitching. The knock against Gose is his hitting. You shouldn't be developing Gose's hitting ability at the MLB level. Let's say that Gose cannot recognize and hit curveballs. If teams see this hole in his swing then they will take advantage. You'd expect major league pitchers to have better curveballs than guys in the minors. He can work on recognizing curveballs at the minor league level.

Plus, you want Davis and Bonifacio to get some reps in the outfield now early in the season than later on when wins and losses have greater importance.

thanks to the boston series + season opener, this early in the season that's misleading. the yankee series this weekend won't hurt either. but when it's not vs boston/ny it might be ugly unless they start winning.

i think Davis is a great backup outfielder. Sure he's not tops at his position (which is why he's a backup), but when called upon he doesn't look out of place.

I feel similarly about Kawasaki. He's not hitting well per se, but he's had some timely at bats. Plus he's just decent all around. I really like him and we should be pretty happy that the team had him in the system.

Now let's please crush the yankees.

I like Kawasaki when he doesn't have a bat in hand.

Davis is a solid 4th OF, decent bat, great speed, decent D. Not much else you can ask for.

Any word on Jose tonight?

Thing i like about Kawasaki is that even though he might not get on base enough, he at least goes deep into the count almost every at bat
Helps to bring wear and tear to the pitcher

Kid battles hard...i like him
