![]() i disagree cg. bj is well past the best before date now. ever since his tommy john surgery he's lost 7-8 mph from his fastball, and for a power pitcher that's the end. he just doesn't have anything anymore, and he's getting shelled every time he comes in. imo, he's done.

![]() I don't know, he's looked fine actually this year. He's pitched well, has located his pitches. He looked worst last year compared to this year.
And I think he's been hitting 88-90 so far this year, so it's not a huge velocity thing. Watching him today though, he struggled locating against Cabrera and there were a few pitches that I think should've been called strikes. He never was a power pitcher like Brandon League, he threw a hard slider more than a hard fastball really and that's what I think he's struggling with. |

![]() I'm not a fan of multiple closers but that's just me. League has closers stuff because he can throw around 100mph, he just needs to command the ball a whole lot better. If BJ continues to struggle then Downs would be the safe bet to take over the closers role.

![]() bottom of the 8th's gonna begin...Snyder with a bomb, his 2nd homerun of the game, put the jays up 8-6 in the top of the 8th...scott downs is coming up...LETS GO JAYS!!!
EDIT: Holy shit, the first batter gets a double, then a bad pitch so he gets to 3rd, no out and it isn't looking too good...but then downs strikes out the next 3...greatness ![]() Last edited by N64; 04-13-2009 at 11:11 PM. |

![]() I caught lots of the game yesterday - including Rolen's game tie-ing hit and Snyder's upper deck monster. It was a very nice come from behind victory.... although looks like we're going to be down a starting pitcher already. Jesse Litch (sp?) left with a sore arm. I have no idea who is in line to jump into the rotation.

The Jays might just use someone from the pen to start for a couple games but if its for a long period of time I think they bring up Accardo then someone like Downs takes over or they bring up Brett Cecil They could sign Ben Sheets, but they'll have to give up a draft pick |
