Red Soxs and Gonzo close to a 7yr 154million extension.
Great. Looks like Reds won't sign Votto to a extension this year, will have him for 2-3 more years and then he will be gone cause we won't have enough $$$ for him since he is going to be in the same demand. :/ I better enjoy watching him while I can. |

Ya some deal with snider going and keeping drabek i'm game for. I trust AA, he seems to be thinking smart and doing good things so far, and doing them the right way. I'll wait and see what it turns into though.

I really really hate the Marcum/Lawrie deal. Why on earth would AA deal or best pitcher for a 2nd base prospect. We already have Hill at second and he had an off year, but still to give up basically our ace pitcher for a prospect is ridiculous. Brewer fans are loving this deal.

Simple, Lawrie is a top prospect. Marcum is a pitcher that struggled against the AL East (it's true, look at the numbers).
You're selling high on Marcum. Plus, I'd argue Morrow was the best pitcher on the staff and along with Romero, Cecil and Drabek this year plus with Stewart in the minors I'd argue that they could all be better than Marcum eventually. You need to begin brining in some of that talent. Plus, with Woj, Alvarez, McGuire in the minors this team is stocked at pitching. They need position players and Lawrie is a high level one. |

I think most pitcher stats are worse facing the AL East than any other division because it is the best division in the MLB. Yes Romero and Morrow are good, but Cecil is inconsistent and nobody knows how Drabek will pan out.
Morrow: 10-7, 4.49 ERA, 1.38 WHIP Marcum: 13-8, 3.64 ERA, 1.15 WHIP ... and you think Morrow is the better pitcher, either your last name is Morrow or you are smoking way too much weed. |

obviously the marcum deal is setting up subsequent moves. let's see what happens prior to traing camp.
you know what really sucks, mcgowan not being able to pitch. he had better stuff then marcum. Last edited by jeffb; 12-07-2010 at 06:49 PM. |
