It's just the Jays' luck that Marcum (who I figured would emerge as the #2 guy next year) would have to undergo Tommy John surgery. Everyone knows the Jays have the best pitching in baseball and if Marcum had been healthy, we could have afforded to ship AJ out for a bat, which we so desperately need. Now we're stuck with AJ "I'm a .500 pitcher unless I'm in an opt out year" Burnett.

Lincecum? There's no way the Giants trade him after the monster season he had. They were iffy on dealing him before the season, and now, no way in hell.

As for AJ, I'd open up the wallet to retain him. He has filthy stuff, he's learning from Doc, he's got Arnsberg guiding him - I think that's huge. He's finally learning HOW to pitch. If they're not gonna retain AJ, they might as well clean house and trade everyone.
Oh I was referring to the comment above, that we almost got Lincecum for Rios last year. So we would've had that lineup in the season we just had, Halladay, Lincecum in Cy Young form, Burnett on a contract year, healthy Marcum for half the year, and yeah I guess Litsch or McGowan filling up the 5th slot.

Let's go BoSox.

I want anyone but the damn Rays to win. They couldn't even come out to suport that team for the better part of the year. And I hate the Dodgers and Phillies.

So yeah, go BoSox.

I hate all Boston or Massetueshes(sp?) sports teams so I'd rather go for the Rays to win it all

Massachusetts (sp) builds winners. I hate the Pats, but I respect what they do. The BoSox are just a great team. At least they develop players.

The Yanks spend and it gets them nowhere. Secondly, the Rays decided to lost for 11 years straight and are only now seeing the results of this. Plus, Matt Garza is a huge douchebag.

Go Sox.

Is there a more resilient team in all of professional sports?

gurkang, you'd have to actually go sit and watch a game in Fenway Park to understand what being a Sox fan is all about.

With the Sox adding Bay to the mix a couple months ago, I've been a closet Red Sox fan since then. He's been one of my favourite players to watch over these last couple seasons. It also helps that he's Canadian too.

The Sox may not win tonight, but has there been a more resilient team in all of professional sports the last couple of years.

Bullshit!!!!!!!!!

The Rays are a great story, but a healthier Beckett, Ortiz and Lowell and this thing is way different.

Yeah, if the Red Sox were healthy it wouldn't be a contest. Lester, Dice-K, Beckett + Pedroia, Ortiz, Bay, Youkilis, Lowell, etc., nobody beats that team.

Well, at least the Sox pushed it to a seventh game. they'll be back to hurt some teams next year.

Man, what a joke. After the incredible turn-around the team made, the fans still aren't packin' in for GAME SEVEN?!

That's why I'll be rooting for the Phillies. They're due.

It could very well be the economy. Hell, I was able to get tickets to see the Wings-Penguins in the Stanley Cup finals in Detroit because the economy there is poor. Not a lot of people have money for luxury items like tickets.
