Nope, he was always really seen as a at best 4th starter but more so a 5th starter. He never got his conditioning straight.

I love the Jays pitchers, I love the Jays Defense,

However;

I hate the Jays team speed, I hate the fact I don't see an Ace or future ace on this club

good with bad

Nice preformance Cecil

Yes I do but I don't see that as a constant. Hopefully it is

I'd argue Cecil may be an ace in the future. Maddux was never considered an ace when coming up through the minors but by the end of his career everyone knew he was one. I kind of see the Jays in that same mix as the early Braves with Romero, Cecil and Drabek being a pretty potent 1-2-3

You may be right but I just dont' feel it. My guess don't mean much but I will say getting Drabek for Doc in the "dump the star contracts for nothing" era was pretty slick.

I don't think I'm being overly critical of management. Alex and the Beest have been doing their thing. I am upset however that Rogers wouldn't shell out some coin to give this team a chance this year.

I hope they're close to the same level as Smoltz, Glavine and Maddux

I guess he thought it was good learning experience for him...he was shaky all day but he still got the win because of the great offense tonight and that'll probably boost Romero's confidence a little.

All of the walks and key hits made a winner out of Romero, who learned a valuable lesson in his first start of the season at Texas. Gaston came out for a visit in the middle of an inning and Romero thought his day was done. He held the ball out for his manager to take and began walking off the mound when Gaston called him back.

When Lou Marson doubled Tuesday to start the sixth and Gaston headed toward the mound again, Romero stood his ground. With the left-handed hitting Luis Valbuena due up, Romero knew he was staying in the game. Romero struck out Valbuena and retired the next two batters on flyouts to get out of the inning holding a 6-5 lead.

"He shows confidence in me," Romero said. "I'm going to go out there and battle. That's what I did."

Well it worked but seeing Cito again is just a flashback at what he does. He ALWAYS lets his pitchers in long. He has Overbay (although had a key hit and a couple of walks last night) bat in the heart of the order and let Snider hit 9th (One of the only outfield prospects the jays have). He lets Jmac hit in key situations when Ruiz was rotting on the bench. Bottom like is Cito is not a manager for rebuildinig team. He had 7 sac bunts during the Jays 93 year (thank god Olerud, Molitar and Alomar were in the lineup). Like he did give us 2 World Series as Manager but seeing this type of managing again just makes me sick.

This guy would die in the NL

Yeah, the two things i really don't get are the Ruiz and Snyder situations. And i thought Triano was stubborn.
