thats just an observation tower in the Olympic Park. torch should be in the stadium like it is for all olympic games.

Looked cheap, and poorly put together imo. It was a hot mess, from the giant beavers, bears and lumberjacks, to the last arm not working to light the flame and Nash standing there not knowing what to do, to the gretzky trip to the stadium. Didn't care for it one bit. There were a couple really nice parts but overall pretty bad imo.

Ya i am forgetting about the mishaps they add. That was awkward. Still artistically speaking all these opening ceremonies are kind of silly (imagine brian williams voice's saying 'this dance represents the country's passion for pottery'). So in that regard i don't recall Vancouver standing out. From what i remember, I actually enjoyed the lumberjack and beaver moments as a tongue in cheek kind of thing. but like windex said, Winter games never resemble the amount of money that goes into summer games. whole different ballpark.

I'm totally looking forward to the London ceremonies. they should be awesome.

we don't? then why are we always so worried and insecure about what other countries think of us?

anyway, i talked to people who thought the ceremonies were good and others that really thought they awful. it's all a matter of opinion, whatever.
