thats shit is confusing, just keep the tie, its the regular season
who cares if americans need a winner, in hockey and basketball the playoffs are the most important thing and there were never any ties then

btw, they might change the overtime format to 4 v 4 then 3 v 3 after 5 mins

Need I say more? They also might change the overtime length to ten minutes & I found out today that the 1 points are now called an overtime loss, so yah the NHL knows the point set up has flaws & are beginning to fix them!

However, i don't let the point system keep me from enjoying the game and being a fan unlike Halph, but that his perogative.
Well that only changed to move the point of climax in the game to the end to give the shoot out more importance Fancy.

i don't get it though. overtime by nature is going to be more exciting due to the 4 on 4 part of it. It's instant offence.

I know. It's weird. I'm a dinosaur, I like the idea of a point for a tie, then an extra for a win in ot. I don't like the shoot out.

i have no problem with a point for shootout losses. that's fine because that's pretty much a true tie. but a loss in OT, is a loss anyway you slice it. get rid of that point.

You fellas should be old enough to remember the kind of hockey that was played in overtime when there was no point already banked...... BOOORRRINNNGGG! The point is great and the OT is often some of the most exciting hockey to watch. I'm hoping they implement the 4on4/3on3 plan as well.

meh, any way ya shake it, toronto has pont in all games, and should have won as they got hosed on a goal called back, and a horrid missed call then even worse penalty call in overtime.

Dumb.

Parade route still planned.
