Group B is deadly. The worst team (Denmark) could win Group A.

Watching that Poland Czech game should be interesting with my Czech in-laws.

Holy shit @ Group B.

The Danes must be pissed lol.

Not a bad draw for England... esp. if France doesn't have their act together yet.

Luckily for French supporters like myself they do (finally) now that that clueless FOOL Domenech is out of the picture. It could be argued that of the two England have less of their act together.

Personally i love the groupings. Poland has a fighting chance and some of the other matchups should be classics. I'm really looking forward to this tourny.

Ireland is underratingly strong too and will fight hard. That's very much a group of death too.

If the Spain/Ireland game rivals the game in '02, I'll be very happy.

Bel, it'll be fun to watch that game because of the types of style the two teams play and well the talent. Modric vs. Iniesta, I honestly can't wait.

Ireland is a tough draw, but they play a very ugly style (I caught a game of Croatia v. Ireland earlier this year in a friendly and it was a horrible game).

Italy is dangerous too. Tough, tough group.

Trapper will try to win at all costs. I feel that they will spoil one of the other teams dream of advancing.

Two country tournaments always have this way of screwing some countries. For fans though it makes for great group play.

expect no goals in the Group D games. Time for France and Italy to redeem themselves.
a lot of interesting games early on. better than the world cup.

predictions: (based on current knowledge and forms of specific players)

Group A
1. Poland
2. Greece
3. Russia
4. Czech Republic

Group B
1. Netherlands (not picked because i forsee a serious dip in performances and an injury to hit VDV throughout the long EPL season, especially since the spurs are pushing hard for a top three finish.
2. Denmark
3. Germany
4. Portugal

Group C
1. Spain
2. Italy
3. Republic of Ireland
4. Croatia (a bit biased because i'm a spurs fan but nonetheless i don't think italy has it put together just yet; plus rossi is a dark horse with that injury.

Group D
1. Ukraine
2. England (i believe will have a tough time but with the emergence of excellence in parker's and rooney's form as of late i see them pulling through as expected; due to the tough time advancing, if they get paired up with any of the bigger teams the next round i see them losing big time and, sad as it may be, redknapp will take over this summer.)
3. Sweden
4. France (have definitely put it together, i see them doing very well this cup with the talent they have available and a proper coach to lead them.

I completely agree. This should be one of the greatest competitions ever when it comes to talent. Without trying to sound biased, wich I obviously am a little, besides Spain, who I think they are ahead of everyone, all the teams (specially the big ones) are doing fairly well and can win. I dont even hate Italy that much anymore. CANT WAIT

Hopefully theres some nice trash talking around here

I agree with those predictions. Something tells me Holland will disappoint and Croatia will surprise everyone.

Euro is a great, great tournament but there were a lot of interesting (and entertaining) sides in the WC who were based outside of europe.

Ghana... the USA.... Uruguay... Brazil... Argentina...

I will miss those squads and what they brought to the table.

Uruguay is the best team in S America. Argentina was dominated by Germany.

World cup is more diluted with all the Asian and CONCACAF teams. In this, even the group stages are competitive.

No doubt. There ARE a ton of good players from those countries though... including the world's best (Messi). Kind of sucks not being able to see them compete in a tourney of this quality.

The fact that world cup occurs every 4 years is what makes it so special. Hey Copa America was just on last summer and it was pretty good. Too bad Messi shit the bed again!
