It is what it is. People like coming out to games that mean something. ?If and when the games start to mean something (i.e. team is in some sort of race), then the crowds will become pretty good.
Agreed. It IS entertainment afterall.

right now, I only watch to see Jose's at bats then I change the channel!

I think my comments made people think I don't like the Jays. I do. Love sitting in left field with a buddy and a beer.

It's just hard to care when there are 82 games, and you know they have no prayer to ever win.

That's different from any other sports team in this city?

That being said, none have a chance to win. In fact the Jays win at a higher rate and have much cheaper tickets. Then again, i usually only see 1 game per summer, and don't think i'll make it to one this summer. I'm averaging 60hrs per week at work.

What do you mean none have a chance to win? Are you talking about championships? Of course no Toronto teams can claim to be in line for a championship now because that's not where they're at in terms of team development. Fans can and do get behind teams that play meaningful games. When the likes of the Raptors and the Leafs are fighting for a low playoff spot, the fans get behind it 100%. Problem is, when was the last time the blue jays played a meaningful game past June?

What sets the Jays and baseball in general apart from the other sports is their unique playoff structure. When only 4 teams out of 15 (or however many there are in the respective conferences/leagues) make the playoffs, being middle of the pack usually means you are not any part of a playoff race. Combine that with the fact that there are twice as many home games in baseball really makes it no surprise that attendance is as bad as it is.

And i really don't think the tickets are much cheaper for the blue jays as you claim. They should be even cheaper. Any tickets in 'good' sections are actually quite expensive. The cheap seats end up being so far away from the action that there is not that much appeal.

90% of their tickets are between 11$ -62$ (premium games 14$- 75$)

Field level bases are 44$ (premium games 52$-71$).

You can get preminum dugout seats for 62$. Sorry but in that price range what do you get at the ACC?

I do agree about the playoff format though, that seriously needs to change.

Well as far as I heard at the start of this year, its possible they're are adding another slot next year for the AL and NL, or it might of been 2 more, i have no idea anymore it was a while ago when I heard it.

Is it just me or does the sound in the stadium seem really muffled when the roof is closed? When you say something the sound dies 2 inches from your face. Weird... It's really quiet in there even when everyone is cheering.

Wow, one team more.

They seriously should shorten the season to 145 games and have the playoffs start after labour day and have even more teams make the playoffs.
