Couture rumored to be resigning with UFC!!

Huge news for MMA fans, Randy is likely back and will be facing Brock Lesnar in his 1st bout!! Dont think Brock is ready for that kind of level of fighter yet but will be a huge draw!!

Then.... bigger news... Dana is caving and after Randy beats Brock... Fedor vs Randy is likely.... biggest match ever!

Done deal apparently ... should be a good tilt.

I looking forward to the Ken Shamrock and Kimbo Slice fight more though. I want to see Ken rip Kimbo a new one. :)

Shamrock is a downgrade on Jason Thompson. Kimbo needs much better opponents to actually test tis guy. He needs a Frank Mir or someone along those lines. Shamrock has lost every match for loke the last 3 or 4 years(5 in a row?) and has been beaten by some questionable talent during that time. Shamrock needs to retire. Kimbo needs better opponents, but his training under Bas Rutten to the test.

Lesnar and Couture should be a good bout.
Lesnar has a huge size advantage(so did Silva though)
Lesnar is arguable the better wrestler.
Couture, without a doubt is the much smarter, craftier and all around better talent once the fight hits the ground. If Lesnars ground game is the same as it was agains Mir and Crazy Horse, Randy will rip him apart.

I wouldnt be surprised.

He needs someone like Couture to train him then he would be unbeatable.

Superjudge 09-03-2008 12:44 PM

Agreed.....

If Iceman knocked him the fuck out twice.....then lost to Keith Jardine.......

Superjudge 09-03-2008 12:51 PM

UFC is fucked though. Talent is big, but the lucky knockout is such a huge possibility.

Tough to bet on.

Me too, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy

I'll defend it never as a sport.

It's ******ed.

however, these dolts all sign on for it, so if they get hurt, I shed no tear.

And it's fun to watch them kill each other, because, well because they are idiots.

I know there's skill, definately there is. However, it seems any martial arts person you ask, will line up to tell you it's all about "SELF DEFENCE"

If thats the case, the best one of the lot is the one that concedes his fight before it begins.

;)

Superjudge 09-03-2008 02:30 PM

what, ya can't say fucked?

Superjudge 09-03-2008 02:31 PM

ahh nevermind. I used the N word again. Bad Sj, Bad!

Snooch 09-03-2008 02:33 PM

You, my friend, are touched in the head.....;)

I want Lesnar to win, but i dont think he will :( He has like no submission game whatsoever and Randy does, he was riding a very less skilled guy and couldnt finish him, i think in a few years he will be champ but this is a setup fight then Randy gets to fight for the belt or Fedor next for the big bucks, then Iceman as a retirement match, thats why Randy made this deal, lucrative fights all in a row then retirement.

I dont get saying if Brocks ground game is the same as the last 2 fights he is in trouble? Did you see him again Mir? He rushed him, took him down and was pounding on him til the ref made a very questionable stoppage for shots in the back of the head, no warning just told them to stand it, the rules say it was a warning tho. But Mir is one of the best BJJ bigs in the world, a horrible fight for Lesnar really.

Randy isnt washed up, in fact he never really lost the heavyweight belt. So if/when he beats Brock he will get a title shot, just like Mir is getting. But him vs Fedor is what really makes Dana's pants get wet, thats big big big $$$

GSP couldnt beat Randy, giving up way too much size and strength, he would get whooped, hell if/when GSP goes for the humongous payday and fights Spider (imagine Spider vs GSP and Randy vs Fedor on the same card?? Wow best card ever!!), Spider will beat GSP flat out, KO, 2nd round.

And again, not only is it a sport, its the truest, oldest sport, fighting to see who is the toughest, smartest, most heart, the ultimate test of human will is a one on one fight, often you get to the point where both men are so tired, its just all guts and heart, you really find out way more about yourself in a fight then you will any other way, what are you really made of at the end of the day? How much can you endure, how great is your willpower, because with 2 highly skilled fighters, that what it often comes down to, stamina, willpower and heart. Anyone that has gotten into many fights in their lives or fights for a living often get addicted to that adrenline and the pure test of character it often is, thats why fighting has always, and will always be popular, from the schoolyard to the octogan and everything in between (whenever there is a fight people gather around and go nuts, whether it's amatuers, pro's or even professional athletes in a game like basketball or hockey, people love it).

So for anyone that avoids fighting and thinks it barbaric or whatever, you obviously havent gotten into many fights, its a freeing experience and a test of yourself you can do no other way.

LEsnar hasn't any BJJ skills, Mir put him in a knee bar and that is why he lost, he tappped out.

GSP and Spider are different weight classes, either Spider would have to go smaller or GSP bigger (15 pound difference), cant see it ever happening.

I know this, but a poster above was saying GSP could beat Randy.... thats an even bigger weight difference and it would be an unfair fight.

If/when GSP beats Penn, there wont be many big $ fights available to him in his weight class, he will be forced to move up and get a huge payday vs Spider (a fight he cant/wont win), because he dominates his class so throughly people will lose interest, i mean Fitch was supposedly a big threat to him, yet he totally dominated him, i think he will dominate Penn aswell and in a year or so move up for Spider, would be a sick fight, but Spider always beats guys that are naturally smaller then him.

Lesnar definately needs some BJJ to make his game more well rounded, i know he lost to Mir in a rookie way, leaving his leg exposed while standing over him, it was a lesson learned, but he was dominating Mir up to that point and i feel was on the verge of KOing him in side control when the ref stopped it and made them stand again, Mir got his bearing and Brock made a mistake, good fight.

Can really tell SJ knows little to nothing about MMA, claiming any fighter from the street can come in and fight a world class opponent and get a lucky KO, please give me a list of these no-names that have beaten true champions? Its hard to bet on when its 2 world class fighters with true skills, but if you want to lose $ quickly, let me make every pick on only fights i like ;)
