Messi is a beast. Argentina will take it.

Spain's Midfield and Defense are too good.
This will finally be Spain's year!

there are a lot of teams capable of getting far. Naturally Spain are my top team as well this year, but once we get past the group stage ANYTHING can end up happening.

I was looking into some of my picks for the first few days and already i'm second guessing a bunch of my initial gut feelings.

I did all the game predictions. And really, there are some that are so difficult to decide about. Im torn with France and mexico particulary.

I'm torn with every one involving South Africa.

not really, but being the home team gives them a much better chance to win at some point.

Remember that weird confederations tournament last summer (or was it 2 summers ago)? Didn't they get into the semi's or something?

For the record, I am predicting a south African win at least once.

The opening game is going to be huge, I could see a SA win there. 2 of my best friends are already there, and another 3 are going soon. They have tickets for every game except the final. Lucky bastards.

Also, I'm sure FIFA will do its best to 'help' south Africa out.

I still like Germany's chances even without Ballack. Schweinsteiger will have to be an animal though.

Any other Germans here?

My top 5 in the tournament are: Spain, Holland, Brasil, Ivory Coast, and ze Germans. I'd like to throw France in there, but i can't see it happening.

I'm a German - Russian mix. I never can get completely into Germany's style of play though.

I loved Argentina's team from 4 years ago. I have no idea how much of the team has stayed the same. Amazing passing.
