Yes well ... I just chalk that up to the media being idiots ... as usual.

Good job, Alex! Go Canada!!

I just thought i'd say i really enjoy the MTV personalities in the morning broadcasts for these Olympics. They're pretty entertaining - it's quite refreshing actually.

I finally got around to watching the men's moguls final. Hard to believe, but Jamie Campbell is actually worse calling moguls than he is calling baseball games.

"Man, that'll hurt your rear!", after a skier fell, was the quote of the broadcast.

yeah kind of. Although i'm more inclined to think that Manuel Osbourne-Paradis was just WAYYYY over-promoted.

Erik Guay had a good run. Too bad for his start because he had a superb second half of his run.

Gold medal for womens snowboard cross by Maelle Ricker.

I watched 90% of the event and the win was great consolation for having to listen to Jamie Campbell horribly blather on about another event he clearly knows nothing about. It's pretty incredible that he so far has ended up calling two of the most important winter Olympic events in our country's history.

Anyways good on RIcker!

as a neutral I must say the medal race was a major disappointment. they just dropped one after the other lol, although to her credit she just ran with it from the start. But the men's race was much more exciting yesterday.

ha ha.
He truly was bad. .. .i mean there were a few instances where you could tell the analyst girl with him had a wtf moment.

I don't want to seem malicious because i bet he's a nice guy, but he really isn't suited to be calling the olympics of all events.

Maybe that's it. maybe he's too nice to fire.

If they can't, they've really got issues.

ya their goalie is good. I wonder how many saves he will have at the end of the game. Canada is getting 5-6 shots one after the other on him in the same possession and he is holding his ground.

It's only Norway, but the men's hockey team looked solid in the second and third periods. Although I haven't been following the NHL closely this season, I am looking forward to watching the olympic hockey.

I was watching some of the mens figure skating and was pretty amused at the trash talking / mind games that the russian Yevgeny Pleshenko pulled after his skate. Now i'm not that familiar with figure skating.... maybe this kind of shit happens all the time, but i found it hilariously awesome nonetheless.

So dude comes out of retirement - 4 years without competing - and skates fucking flawlessly. I think he set a new olympic record. Anyways, after his run (but before the other favorite skaters go) he has this interview. Lady asks him how he feels in his first major competition since being retired and he goes on about how he feels sick, recently lost weight, and needs to be seen by a doctor. Then the best part was when she asked him about the quad jump. Apparently lots of the skaters can't jump a quad (including the Canadian Patrick Chan) - but this guy does it with ease. He did one perfectly in his run (while being sick and needing to see a dr. lol). So the interviewer asks him about his thoughts on the use of the quad jump. And Plashenko calls it the future of skating and how it's very important. Then he pauses and says something to the effect of if you can't do a quad then you're not a real man.

Right after that David Peltier and the Canadian television team was getting all defensive of Patrick Chan. It was hilarious!
