SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Levon Kendall scored 14 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Canadian Senior Men's National Team to an 86-72 win over Argentina at the Tuto Marchand Cup on Wednesday.

Both Canada and Argentina are 1-1 at the tournament.

"Tonight was a good response to our performance yesterday," Kendall said. "We did a good job of being aggressive and that translated into us making shots tonight.

"We have to bring the same energy tomorrow when we continue our preparation for the FIBA Americas Championship against Brazil."

Canada also got 14 points apiece from Jermaine Anderson and Andy Rautins.

Diego Garcia led Argentina with 13 points and Luis Scola had 12.

Argentina got off to a quick start, leading 20-15 at the end of the first quarter. But Canada used a 30-17 second quarter to take a 45-37 halftime lead. By the end of the third, Canada had boosted its lead to 21.

"We came out with a lot more energy then we did yesterday against Puerto Rico," said head coach Leo Rautins.

"We were more aggressive and played with energy defensively. We did a better job of moving the ball on offence and that led to us making more shots."

wow. that's a pretty big win.

Even if Argentina didn't play some of their big NBA players, it's still a very good accomplishment.

Who knows, maybe the Rautens guy has some promise as a coach.

I wonder how significant Dalembart would be to this team. Front court of Anthony and Dalembart is pretty good. Great defene and rebounding. Canada needs to produce a tier one scorer someday.
