fuck I hope so many things go wrong next year, Toronto needs to draft this kid, OR, he needs to let everyone he won't report unless its to toronto

Zalgiris 04-11-2013 09:08 PM

Kid needs to mature. He's just one promising kid from high school. Lithuania beat USA with kids like Lebron and Wade in 2004 Olympics, and they had a decent backup. Lets say Wiggins becomes what Lebron was in 2004, he's still one guy, who'll be others? T.Thomson? He's ok, but that's it. 50 year old Joel Anthony, D leaguer Routins? I guess Canada couldn't even qualify to Olympics with such roster.
No disrespect, I'm sure there are plenty Canadians that are good and I don't know (like the one in Orlando, but he's not good so...), Wiggins said that because he's country proud, likes to bring hope, but be realistic - he's unrealistic

XiaominWu 04-12-2013 12:51 AM

Can he even skate?

Most promising guy since Lebron, do you even watch college basketball? Lots of Nba talent. And Tristan Thompson is promising, so is Nicholson and kabongo. I'm not saying we'll be the US, but we'll definitely compete in the next years

you forgot Bennett and Olynyk. could have 3 canadians in the first round this year. Also have 3 top 30 high school seniors in the US.

really only missing a starting SG because Canada has a decent amount of bigs and point guards as well as a star SF

exactly, i see pangos as a 2 guard, and wiggins can either play the 2 or 3, and maybe even 4, bennet can play the 3 and 4 maybe even 5 the way the nba has become

Winning Olympic gold sounds more realistic than NBA with Raptors :yeah: :yeah: :yeah: :aj:

Wrong thread?

Cory Joseph (Spurs) should be on the team too.

I'm still thinking that Rautins will have the 2 spot regardless of whether or not he's in the NBA. He's the shooter they need to compliment what is looking more and more like a very athletic team for 2016 and 2020.

Rautins, nah. someone else will replace him, unless Leo becomes coach again

bjjs 04-20-2013 12:34 AM

They'll be competing for it in 2020 and 2024. All it takes is one perfect game to beat the US.

There are 2-3 Canadians coming into the NBA every year now - and it's accelerating.

Add an NBA roster around Wiggins. Stir in Steve Nash as GM. Lithuania will have a tough time with them.

"I'd never want to turn my back on my country like that," Wiggins said of Canada. "That's where I'm from. I have good times here. The program treats me right. USA already has a name for itself as a basketball country. Canada has not really established that yet. I want to be one of the reasons why we establish that."

I wish kabongo stayed in college, look how it helped Olynk who wasn't even on the board last year to a 13th pick

i'm sure two more years of seasoning could have helped kabongo jump in the draft
