okay..i was checking out the lines..and sure enough.. our improved Raps are..17th!! 17th!! lol..okay.. we haven't improved to a point that we might win the whole damn thing..but 17th? i was thinking top 10..Houston is in the top 10? r u kidding me?..even detriot is still ahead of the raps? what?..what do u guys think?

more people will bet on Detroit b/c of past history and they're more relevant
some american fans generally don't like the raps offseason moves and think they're fighting for the 8th seed

hey Windex, that theory is correct when the line has been out for a while..sportsbooks/vegas will correct it..making the publics bets have lower odds..ie.. crap load of mulla comes in on the raptors.. in order for them greedy cows to make money..they'll bump up the Raptors to a higher standing..ie.10th.. and a much lower payout for a raptor win... if the vegas line is brand new.. its based on pro scouts and pro handicappers that have been making lines for vegas for a billion years and has nothing to do with americas perception on a certain team or current betting trend.

if i placed a bet today for the raps at 51.00 odds....
then in January the Raps somehow get Lebron and Kobe... their odds would move up to like 2.5 or something.... does my bet @ 51 still stand, or does it change during the course of the year, even if i placed it today?

football gives you a better pay out b/c half the league could win
in basketball its basically a 5-6 team race so the pay out is low for those teams

hey Insider...answer to your question..no... the bet odds locks in at the date of your bet.. if we get those players you mention.. that would be awsome..but it'll never happen! lol.. i made a 2500 bet for an over/under win totals for the year and i took the patriots last year...needless to say..when brady went down after 1 game..i wanted to kill someone!!! .. so yeah..the line stays... for the good or bad..

some sports books allows you to change during a mlb game.. you can pick the jays if doc is pitching..but than..a second before game time.. doc is scratched..and u get vernon wells pitching(okay that would never happen, he sucks batting anyways)..but u get the point.. some sports book will automatically erase your bet... even if u bet for the other team... its a way of protecting themselves and the players..

i dont see lakers holding 2 in a row and i really hate spurs' old team. I doubt vince will help out orlando, if i had a choice, put a huge 500 bet on james and a 200 bet on Pacers.
