RF Draft Playoffs Game 7
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BEFORE CASTING YOUR VOTE:
NOTE: Regarding injuries, we are not just ignoring injuries altogether. Players should be considered as healthy but with reasonable expectations for this year. This league is based on what the players could be reasonably expected to produce the next season when they are playing. Example: "When it comes to Brandon Roy, nobody expects him to produce at a rate better than he did last year, which was NOT impressive. He was quite mediocre last year. I think one would expect him to stay the same. There is no reason to expect him to get back to his old form, since his knees just keep getting worse, not better. On the other hand, although Bynum has a history of injuries, he always bounces back and produces. As long as he is in the lineup, he contributes quite nicely. There is a difference between players like Roy and Bynum." Chiggmo Lineup: PG - Rose/Jennings SG - Harden/Morrow SF - W. Chandler/Wes Johnson/Johnson PF - Odom/Glen Davis/Bonner C - M. Gasol/A. Randolph And there would be other rotation among that with some guys playing other positions a bit. Let me start by saying I originally began building my team young, and to win for a while, and then eventually continued on doing so. Regardless here we go (I'm not gonna get to into it, just vote however lol, I like my team regardless) Offence: Well overall I feel I have a lot of good shooters out of my starting lineup with a good facilitator and scorer in Rose. Harden showed last year that he can play offence when given the ball and can be relied on to handle his fair shair both inside and from deep. Chandler showed some good offence during his time both in NY (torched the raps :P) and Denver. Odom can hit a shot from anywhere on the floor, and can also play very good down low, also brings championship experience to the team for all the young guys Gasol can draw attention down low and also score no problem. Lots of speed and agility on the wings off the bench, and some 3pt shooting mixed with some slashers. I personally think I have a slight advantage in offence. Defence: Well this is the part I'm not going to heavily get into, as I believe LX does have the edge here, but I think I'd be able to get his team off balance and get enough for the win. Well.. its 12:30am and I'm done! GL LX! may the best man win! VS LX Starting Lineup PG - Ty Lawson SG - Delonte West SF - Luol Deng PF - LaMarcus Aldridge C - Tyson Chandler 6th man - Trevor Ariza at the 2 and 3 scoring off the bench - Barea, Fernandez, Korver key minutes will go to Ilyasova when Aldridge rests, or when Chandler comes off and Aldridge slides over to the 5. Speights and Miller round out the bench My team is built for tremendous team defense and the ability to play any style. This is a team that can weather a full season and come into a matchup like this having established a strong identity and carry on with good habits on both ends of the court. This team is very versatile, and able to make use of it's depth to the fullest extent. Aldridge can play the 4 as well as the 5. Barea and West can both move over from the SG spot to play PG. Ariza can play the 2 or the 3. All-in-all, there is a great deal of length, some good speed and athleticism, a lot of grit, and a few offensive sparkplugs coming off the bench. In matching up against Chiggmo's team, it is going to be essential to get the ball out of Derrick Rose's hands and force some out-of-rhythm jumpers. He is going to see a lot of different looks with shutdown defenders like Ariza, West and Deng, and Lawson's speed being a challenge on drives to the basket. In the event that Rose keeps the ball and penetrates, he will face a long and athletic frontcourt collapsing as he drives. Chandler made all-NBA on defense last season, and Ariza always finishes high in the voting. Aldridge has become a disruptive and intimidating force in his own right, showing the ability to get blocks and steals in large doses. And Luol Deng was a key part of one of the best team defenses in the league last season. These guys are great at providing help and rotating, shutting down passing lanes and contesting midrange jumpers. Rose is going to have his hands full outside of having to deal with perimeter defenders the likes of West, Lawson, and Ariza while at the 2 spot. That frontcourt will also have to deal with Lamar Odom and Marc Gasol on the inside. A huge key will be cleaning up the boards on Rose drives and the bad outside shots we are hoping to induce. Odom and Gasol, as well as Davis, are active rebounders that this frontcourt can take care of. Speights has shown signs of being a monster rebounder in limited minutes and can come in as a physical presence under the boards if need be. Ilyasova is a tough defender that secures rebounds with the best of them, while giving up very little in any other aspect. And Ariza and Deng are two of the best rebounding small forwards out there. This team can make any necessary defensive adjustment to keep the score low in this particular matchup. Offensively, look for continued development from the likes of Lawson (who was a major part of Denver's overachieving post-Carmelo) and Aldridge. Solid defense will lead to a lot of good shots off of early offense and outright breaks, with everyone on the roster able to get up and down the court. In the halfcourt, Aldridge can handle some isos, and pass out to a whole bevy of nice shooters, with Lawson, Deng, Ilyasova, Korver and West all showing excellent percentages. Even Ariza has shot extremely well when not asked to fill too big of a role on the offensive end. Deng is a good scorer, while Barea and Fernandez can put a lot of pressure on opposing defenses in that respect, creating for themselves and others. There is a lot of balance here that will be very challenging to shut down altogether. The bench can pick up right where the starters leave off, or play extended minutes in their own right if need be. These teams are freaking polar opposites. At C we've got an offensive player versus a defensive player, with both being decent at the other end. The forwards go to LX hands down. The guards go to Chiggmo hands down. I don't like either bench, with no real backup C between them.
I have to go with Chiggmo. Rose is such a game-changer. Quote:
This is another close one. I realize my reasons for picking Chiggmo can probably be picked apart. But that would be true if I picked LX's team too. This one will go down to the wire, I think. |

I just noticed something clutch did. Which is also partly my fault. Its supposed to be glen Davis; not ed Davis. I should of put first initials when I sent my lineup but forgot.

looks like it. congrats man. I'm not disappointed in the loss, but I am a little disappointed that these guys couldn't play it for real. I think my guys would do pretty well. Anyway - these are the players I love in the NBA, aside from Korver and Speights which were my later picks. Hats off to the few that seem to share that love. It feels like a real brotherhood <wipes tear>
