Question for the Sports Bettors
How do u track your wins/losses? Do you maintain a spreadsheet or use some kind of software? Are there any lessons to learn from looking back at past results/picks? Thx.
lately, since I've been posting my picks in this forum, I've just been keeping track of my wins and losses whether it is a O/U loss or win combined with my ATS wins and losses....but i'm in the works of just usin an excel file to keep track of my O/U and ATS wins and losses cuz i'm curious as to how I do in each of those categories.
I've known people to keep extensive spreed sheets...with their totals of their POD picks (play of the day), seperate from their "normal" plays...their O/U seperate from their ATS picks and such.
I'm not too much of a big fan of how teams play in the past (I kinda take how the team is playin or has been playin with a lil more importance) BUT thats not to say I don't look at the past when I take my picks. I mean look at the past between Charlotte and the Lakers and their past 10 games...I think Charlotte is like 8-2 ATS against the lakers (thats not the right stat...but its somethin like that)...or you can look at the past to see how teams usually play each other to see a trend if it might help with your O/U pick like the history between the Pistons and Cavs (I bet their history of goin U on their games is a lot greater than the O). But for me to keep track of that on my own would be maddening and I usually use a website that keeps track of that for me...which is why some of these sportsbooks automatically offer that service through their sportsbook which is a nice feature.
I also answered your question about 2nd half lines in my "4/3 leans and picks" thread...so check that thread to get my take on 2nd half lines too.
