Damn went 3-2 on the day (includin my 2nd half plays)...and it was a catch 22 goin to the dodgers cuz i couldn't put my DAL/MEM 2nd half over in like i wanted [which wouldn't have cashed in] but I ended up losin my "private" non post bet on the dodgers game...dang it, "same shiet, different toilet"

Usually, the over under is about the same as the total of the game divided by two (if the game total for the O/U was 198...the 2nd half line is usually gonna be around 99.5) There is some value with the 2nd half lines as you might get better value on a play for the 2nd half. For example, you can get the feel of a game as you are watchin it and the halftime line might not go hand in hand with the 2nd half line...kinda how I said I was gonna take the O on today's SA/INDY game today cuz the flow of the game was just too uptempo and I thought the over was easy [it came through] but things might not be as it seems and you could get burned like I did with the DAL/MEM 2nd half today too). The other aspect of gaining value with 2nd half lines is the fact they are adjusted according to the score in respect to the pregame line, to a certain point....For example, if the favorite of a game is down at half the 2nd half line might come out way below the pregame line if you took the bet then. Let's say the Lakers were a 10 point favorite at game time but are down at half to the Clippers by 8...the 2nd half line could be Lakers -11.5 which means they'd only have to win the game by 4 to win your second half bet, which is not as much as the pregame line where the LAkers had to win by 11 to win your bet BUT thats banking on the fact the LAkers will make a strong comeback cuz they have to cover 12 points in the second half, even tho they now only have to win the game by 4...does that make sense?....AND on the flipside if the lakers were up by 18 at half...the 2nd half line could be Lakers +2 which means they'd have to end the game up 15 which is a lil shiettier than if you took the lakers to cover before the game started. |
