Greek Forum in the International Area

How about making a Greek Section in the International Area?

As I know there about 50,000 Greeks in Toronto and I have some friends here in Greece who would like to join a Greek forum about the Raptors. I was thinking of making a Greek Forum about the Raptors, but I think it will be better here so that they can also participate in other threads. I could do the moderating as I have experience in it.

What do you think?

You think you can help attract more Greek members here Metro? If so, then it could be something to think about here. We're struggling as it is with the Spanish and Italian ones so I'm not sure what the participation level would be here if we added a Greek one.

I'll contact some people about the prospect of joining the forum and becoming active members and I'll inform you the next days.

I just wanted to see if you are positive in this idea.I also want to ensure that there will be participation, not just a dead section.

Sure, we'd be open to the idea and for Greek fans to start their own "Printezis Fan Club" here.

Let either myself or lang know Metro and we can create another subforum here. And if things go well with activity in that forum we can give you some moderator capabilities too so you can keep an eye on what's being posted in there seeing how the majority of us can speak a lick of Greek.

OK, we'll be in touch. Is Printezis popular there?

Printezis, I think his rights belong to the Raptors.

I honestly thought about a Greek forum as well, but didn't think there would be that much interest. It's be a great addition if we got some members to participate.

I have a question.

Will they be posting in English or Greek? If they are posting in English, why not just make it part of the general forum?

Those who are fluent in English of course they can just participate in the international edition. But there are some who do not speak english at all or they they feel more comfortable talking in Greek. We will see.

Exactly and that was the same reason why lang created the Spanish and Italian forums. We have many that are already registered here and I'm sure lots that lurk. We just want to make it easier and less intimidating for them to converse with their peers here especially if they aren't comfortable speaking English.

I think a Greek forum is not necessary at this time. Only 4 fans would like to participate and I don't think they are enough for a new section.

Maybe in the future if there is more interest something could be done.

Fair enough Metro. I don't know if it'll float anyways because as you can see both the Spanish and Italian ones are like a ghost town here.

Who knows, maybe once Printezis comes to town he might generate a whole lotta interest in Greece and create traffic for us here. If and when that happens we can always discuss it then.

I think he needs to improve a lot before he comes to Toronto.
