Default Third Referendum (RF Edition)

In 1995, there was a second referendum, asking Quebecois whether they would like to leave Canada. 49% voted YES, while 50% voted NO.

Now... Parti Quebocois are confident that this time they'll win it.[1]

If you guys have to vote... "Do you agree that Quebec should become sovereign?"

Sure, but they need to develop their own currency, government and treaties, military, police force, medicare, social assistance programs, etc, everything is on their own and canada totally pulls out. As well any agreements and treaties formed under the banner of interprovincial/canadian should become null and void.

And then after they do it canada should invade and take Quebec over again.

Yep.

Set up an agreement wherein becomes something akin to the European Union (as a colleague of mine once said).

I remember when I first heard about this when I was younger. I thought Quebec was going to some how float away from Canada.

IMO the european union is an absolute disaster in uncountable ways. I dont think it should be an example to anyone. I think Canada is doing much better than most countries in Europe and dont need anything like that.

While I agree that the European Union is exactly working wonders, mostly due to economic reasons, there have been some benefits of it as well when the economy was a little different.

Really, the only reason Canada is doing well is because we're so heavily regulated (a few articles published have stated that regulating banking in the way Canada has is one of the ways to avoid what's happened in the rest of the world).

See ya Quebec.

Don't let your share of the National deficit kick you in the ass on your way out.

Yep, I'm really glad that the central bank is responsible in managing our currency...unlike our neighbour that loves to inflate
