![]() i have no idea...i think everyone is just as frustrated as you and I.
My friend sent me a text about that so naturally i ran out and gased up right away. When are governments going to start regulating this shit....oh wait, they arent because they are on the take. Unless the people of canada stand up and voice their displeasure and boycott gas stations etc things wont change. We just accept the fact gas goes up, pay the price and go to work or whatever. When do we reach the boiling point that we have to riot? Im all for rioting and boycotting if someone will listen. Perhaps the truckers can start idling on the highways or tunring off their trucks until someone decides to take shit seriously. |

![]() Gas prices are going to continue to rise not gonna change. Too many people in political power have alot to gain by increasing cost of gas. Bush sitting on the board of a major oil company in Texas and all.(Farenheit 9-11)
If the world could just get the opportunity to explore alternative fuels like hydrogen or even electric then all this nonsense would end. It would also seriously reduce the number of wars going on as everyone knows alot of them are over control of the oil feilds. OT: Hard pressed to get me to beleive that they cannot make an electric car that has the power of a gas model, and I have already seen a gas engine converted to hydrogen power and that I must say is the future: emmission is pure water. |

![]() this is definitely ike related. they shut down a bunch of refineries in the texas area to brace for the storm. this comes on the heels of an already depressed reserve from the summer season and the continuing hurricane situations. if ike does major damage to the refineries this price increase will stick around for a while. if the storm passes and the refineries are OK, we should see another drop in prices back to the levels they were at in august within the next two weeks.
we had actually seen gradually dropping prices since late july, so it hasn't been a relentless climb. hurricane season always pushes the prices up a bit, and the duration is determined by the quantity of damage caused to vital facilities. i'm no fan of big oil, and there is most certainly a lot of bullshit going on, but this predicted rise is directly attributable to depressed resevres and the early warning of a significant weather situation aimed directly at refining facilities. |

![]() i drive a diesel so the kicker for me is the fucking gouging going on there. it's way way way cheaper to refine than unleaded, but because it's a smaller consumer base they raise the price on diesel to keep the unleaded people happy.
i wouldn't be surprised if the fucker hits 1.75 a litre. heh. a litre of gas is almost on par with a litre of coke and a litre of bottled water. nice. |

![]() Yeah, gas went up here yesterday as well. Not really sure why as stock markets are closed and usually gas goes up with the changes in oil.
Simply, what we're kinda going through right now is an exercise in conditioning. We see 138.2 at the pumps and when we see 119.0 we'll say, wow what a bargain even though THAT's still extremely high. Prices are artificially high. The problem is we still rely too much on automobiles in general or cars with more than a 2 litre engine. Why we haven't followed the footsteps of Europe (Ford, GM HELLO?????) is beyond me where cars have 1.0 litre engines to be fuel efficient. If one of the major domestic auto makers did this and had it stylish, imports from Japan would easily be defeated. |
