Default For SJ Fiscal Conservative & Social Liberal

He called me a pussy so I am posting how I am a fiscal conservative and a social liberal.

The "fiscal conservative" side you prett much hit the nail on the head. Small Government, balanced budget.

"Social Liberalism", quick snapshot of issues like, gay marrige, abortion, that accually have no cost to the government, and I believe the government has no place in making those decisions, which is why I fully support a separation, of church and state.

When it comes to social programs, I admit, there is some grey area but I have managed to nail it down a bit even for myself. Programs that REQUIRE government, money and are based on inailible human rights, such as programs for the disabled, children with learning disabilities, battered women, single moms, etc...I think deserve more funding from the government, because they relate to a inate "human" cause. My issue comes when that spending is not proporly distributed, and most of the funds gets tied up in beaurocracy, and don't end up accually helping the people that need it, (i.e building affordable housing in Toronto, when there is plenty sitting empty), I would prefer that money go to solving the root causes as oppose to just being stop gaps.

Even more infuriating for me, is programs that are government funded that could be fully funded by its members, (i.e the 8 million we give to the Opera House), the waste that goes to programs that nobody even uses. Our government gives money to both the Jewish and Palestinian organizations, in the millions on an annual basis, and those programs should be funded by its members.

Not sure how clear that is, but when members of Toronto's city council, are writing off glasses of wine, and clowns for their kids parties, I have a huge issue with that, and so should you, because that money should be in programs like the one you work for.

-Cheers

now thats just awesome.

You're still a pussy.

I can't believe you took me for a Hockey goon. Skate hard, play hard, hey harder, get a number, and when the whistle blows, act like you've been there before.

Dude I was a captain and a defensive Defenseman who was never in one fight, by choice. I promise.

hahaha.

Ands I would imagine it was hard not to let yourself do just that as a young guy in Jr. Were taught that it's the proper CANADIAN thing to do. I never made Jr. B I was way too small to play my position, as a defensive D guy, so I never got to do what you did, I always will feel sad about that.

I'll tell ya what though, My Dad's cousins played in the 72 Summit series, and because of that I have had an earful of what it mean't to Canadian Hockey, and Hockey as a sport in general my whole life. I recently watched the saeries again on DVD.

I was embarrassed.
