I paid an extra ~$65 each to renew my 2 license plates recently, just because I live in Toronto. AFAIK, residents of neighbouring cities do not pay this. So, any such tolls should not apply to Toronto residents, IMO.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO....

there is a bunch of short sighted people in here...already businesses are being driven out of the core and into the burbs...

These tolls will cripple the city and congestion....

Traffic will be worse...if thats possible

yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes

suburbanites that work in toronto don't pay property tax, don't contribute to sustaining our infrastructure, cause increased need for maintenance, put a strain on our emergency response teams.

it is the cost of real estate that is driving businesses out of the core, not a marginal increase in transportation costs. and frankly, suburbanites don't come to the core for small business shopping anyways, save for a few locations, so it is the bigger firms that are able to handle a marginal cost increase for transportation that would have to deal with this. it is part of the cost of doing business in a large city, and when you're paying $120 sq ft in leasing costs this isn't exactly on your radar as a significant issue.

Well funny you say that I always admired work of politicians of centre to the left wing. Prime Ministers like Lester B Pearson and Trudeau although did some lousy policies both put a great stamp on Canada. Lester put the country forth by changing our flag and slowly tried to establish a true identity for the country. Not to mention his great works in world peace keeping. Trudeau I thought did a great job with the FLQ with his "JUST WATCH ME" approach and being a French Canadian himself really sent a strong message. Jean Mr. "its a proof till its been proven" was a wack job but he really took advantage of a good economy and got the country out of debt hell a bit.

You may think I'm a "true capitalist" because well I don't have much faith in government. From Mcguinty and his "HST is great" to the Federal Liberals scandals. Personally I just don't want Canada to shell out Trillions like the states are doing right now. If we really manage this countries economy properly we could actually prosper.

Also, if you look at 'true capitalism' ie. USA you see what kind of a mess their in so possibly I'm making an argument to meet a better solution.

What about having the GTA its own MEGA TORONTO so we all can share in each others crap. Yes I'm calling out you Markham building no infastructure but using Toronto resources to be in the black and you Mississauga who dined a Subway extention because it was better for Missisauga and not for the city that helps you grow.

The war on the car continues...

What about restaurants that people drive to on weekends....stores ....I am a city boy, I live in the city...I was also a business owner in the city. Please no more road blocks for me to get customers...no more dedicated streetcar lines...no more tolls..

Hows about this STOP THE WASTE AT CITY HALL.

Stop paying "envriomental animators" 50k each with a budget of 10 million to spend on doing nothing....

Dont pay millions of dollars to Detroit based company for the Yonge Street on line magazine...

I recommend every Toronto resident looks through this list...and see where our money is being spent.

City of Toronto: Council Office Expense Report

50 Councillors doing fuck all spend 50k each, this is outside of salary's and office staff....its seriously fucked up...I would like to see how angry my boss would be if I expensed a clown for a kids birthday party.

You don't live here, you don't know.

Dedicated street car lanes, on already busy streets.

$65 renewal tax on an already expensive process.

Dedicated Bike lanes in a congested city.

Proposals to make some MAIN STREETS into the city BIKE ONLY

Tolls...

its fucked.

I don't think he will though. He is an against the grain guy and likes to blow loose cannon every now and then (which I like about him). However; I just have a feeling he won't

If anyone knows of the work Rob Ford does sent him a email and show him some support he really deserves it. Only Councillor that will return your email and doesn't use his expense account

all of these things are exactly what this city needs. the idea that businesses need everyone to be driving with no restrictions is pretty far fetched. commerce does not need unlimited cars to work.

How cool. He is on AM640 with John Oakley once a week and I try to never miss a statement. I dunno wheather to laugh or cry at his comments. Straight shooter and is not afraid to hurt anyones feelings.

I really think if enough people of Toronto email him about being mayor he may just break down and put his name in.

but you do need adequate public transport to offset the need for cars

Utopian pipe dream, people will NEVER stop driving....its a harder war to win than the "war on terror".

Fact-905r's make up the majority of people working in the city.

Fact-Go trains are over crowded as is....I suggest you try to get on one in rush hour.

Fact- Can't get there by subway because our system sucks

Oh and I forgot to add "Tear down the gardiner" to my list of completely insane ideas of the war on cars.
