U.S. Charlie Sheen Calls for Rob Ford?s Resignation - North America - Codewit World News

Quote:
Charlie Sheen called for Rob Ford's resignation today, saying the Toronto mayor's struggles with substance abuse make him unfit to lead Canada's largest city.*Sheen has been in Toronto for the past two weeks shooting the sixth Scary Movie film and was caught outside his hotel today by a reporter for La Presse newspaper.*"Charlie, any thoughts on the mayor here in Toronto?" the correspondent asked. "As someone who's battled with drug abuse himself, do you think the mayor should resign and go into treatment?"*"Ah man, that's a tough question," Sheen responded. "I hate to pass judgement on anybody, especially given my history.

But I've been seeing those videos on the news, and I think it's fair to say that Rob Ford parties too much. I can honestly tell you I've never been that high.*"There was this one time in Vegas when I took four Victoria's Secret models and did one gram off each of their bodies within like 45 minutes. I declared myself King of Vegas and decided to remodel my hotel room with my bare hands to resemble King Louis XIV's bedroom at Versailles. Knocked down two entire walls, and later had four knuckle surgeries. Still wasn't as high as Rob Ford.**"This guy needs help. I'm not saying he needs counseling or AA or rehab or anything like that.

Everyone gets better in different ways. But yeah I think he should at least resign and figure out what kind of help is right for him. It's one thing if you're an actor, but public servants should be held to a higher standard."

Rob and Doug Ford Are Getting Their Own TV Show | politics | Torontoist

Quote:
When Newstalk 1010 cancelled Rob and Doug Fordís weekly radio show, it seemed like a responsible move, given the mayorís political crisis. Rob Ford is a politician who has all but admitted to misleading the public about his own conduct. Giving him a platform where he could continue doing that, unchallenged, week after week, was beginning to seem like a very shady move. But you know which organization*doesnít*care about lowering the standards of Canadian broadcast media for short-term gain? Sun News Network. And so, naturally, the cable news channel*has just announced*that a new Rob and Doug Ford TV show will air for the first time on Monday at 8 p.m.

Maybe Sun is doing this because it has very few viewers and very little money and figures it has nothing left to lose. Or maybe the channelís overlords honestly still believe in Mayor Fordís agenda and want to give him a shot at redeeming himself. Or maybe they were impressed by his candor about*whether and where he eats pussy*and the idea is for the whole thing to be a Sue Johanson-style sex Q&A show. One can only hope.An interesting unanswered question in all of this is whether the show will be able to continue once Rob and Doug Ford register as candidates in the 2014 election. There are strict rules about campaign contributions, and providing the Fords with free broadcast time might violate them. There is some good news, though: our weekly*Rob and Doug Ford radio recaps*are back in business, though weíll probably have to start calling them something else.

what?

How can anyone take him seriously at this point. He has disgraced himself and his place of work aka city hall.

I think if anything this has taught us that there should be some technicality that allows for a person in his position to be removed from the job if they can't adhere to a code of conduct or something. someone should be drafting this as we speak and getting the wheels in motion to make it happen.

i know one thing which is that he won't be able to fix his image or how people look at him ever again. done. finished. written in stone. he'l never be looked at in a respectable way or even given respect by most people which means he won't be able to function at his job. I really don't understand how he's still allowed to be mayor.

It is up to Queen's Park at this point to step in and get him out of there. That is where the power lies for such an action.

Sadly, there are a LOT of people who bought in to his whole "gravy train" charade and actually believe that he has saved the city from the corrupt liberals and "commie pinkos" like David Miller.

These people will defend him throughout all of this. I mean, he was a buffoon before the election..... and people overlooked it all and voted him in.

Was thinking this is the main reason why he's hanging on to this job...because he knows that noone will ever hire him again for ANY job

I totally disagree...the "power" lies with the taxpayers of Toronto...their apathy regarding this whole circus is truly baffling

why is he admitting these things again?

the councilors are unprofessional for turning their backs on him IMO. His actions do not justify the councilors acting like that.

His actions don't justify that? Are you kidding?

His actions justify getting his fat ass booted from office. This is mild

Do you realize that his closest ally today said he suspected that he was either high or drunk today................at work.

what can the taxpayers do? there isn't a mayoral election until 2015. i disagree with you, i don't think taxpayers are apathetic at all. if it came down to a vote at this point people would get rid of him without hesitation. there just isn't a mechanism in place to make that happen.

i was watching at issue tonight and they brought up an interesting point. if itt ends up coming to the premiere trying to oust rob ford from his seat, rob ford will likely say "well i was elected by the people, the people are the ones who want me here." call his bluff, implement some sort of mechanism whereby the people can vote on whether or not he should be kicked out. that imo is the best way.

nice
i had no idea protests were taking place...haven't seen anything about it on the news (maybe it was just me that missed it)

these protests need to continue/grow on a continual basis imho...Toronto needs to "shut down" until he is removed from office...imho, anything less will not suffice
