Default Perfumes in Public Places

After another night at the movie theatre where my head nearly exploded because of the guy who took a shower in some chemical concoction and a gal who bathed in a sea of perfumes, I've finally had it with rolling the dice every time I go to a public place.

I'm severely allergic to most perfumes and colognes and i simply can't deal with too much of them. And I find more and more people dousing themselves in them to go out in public. I used to restrict students in my classes from wearing them because of my and some of the other student's allergies to them. I caught a lot flack, but come on, most of these products are filled with ungodly pesticides and other poisons.

There's a lot of people out there in my boat. I don't expect it to change, but it sucks paying to see a movie only to sit there and wheeze and sneeze while the assholes wearing the shit making you do this give you stink eye for disrupting their viewing pleasure.

more and more places are becoming scent free these days, especially workplaces. i feel for ya cling. i'm not allergic, fortunately, but the smells get to me too. the worst are old ladies who's sense of smell is fading with age. they seem to just douse themselves to try and get the level of scent they remember, while not realizing that it's just a matter of them getting older.

My Gf wears a perfume that makes my nose go mental. She has stopped since the second time.

As for movies, I stopped going the night a baby was crying through 4 hours of Lord of the Rings. I confronted (gently) the parents in the lobby...another guy was ready to kill them.

Some of those perfumes are vial. Hard to say if you will get support for a mass ban.

Our school has a policy that you can't wear tham. If the teachers find out that you are wearing them you get severe conciquences

i find overwhelming perfumes insulting, especially in confined public places like theatres and restaurants. i can wear mild colognes, but don't wear them often at all. i'll never understand why people insist on wearing so much. do you smell that much? are your clothes that dirty? colognes and perfumes shouldn't be used as a masking agent or as an attention seeker. the abusers need to be dick punched.

the rule with cologne is: if you can smell it (on yourself) then you put too much.
you should never be able to smell your own cologne.
