maybe it's just me, but i find it pretty depressing given that all of this would have been avoided if kid just didn't drink and drive.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but... My brother has been in wheelchair since 1995. I don't see how changing one device for another is that great. Sure, it has potential, it's a start and hopefully it will go a long way from where it is now, but IMO, this is way too sugar coated compared to the daily challenges people in wheelchair face that in a lot of cases have little to do with mobility.

The technology is a few steps in the right direction towards having Robocops.

With enough Robocops, drunk driving will be impossible.
