alright so to reply to the linguistics issue like I said I would:

yes ligea probably knows more than me on linguistics as I know nothing on the matter. However, I stated that even if the person had no intention of mixing up the names, I am still angered by the fact. Am I wrong to be? You with more knowledge than me on the issue, could you explain why the fuck ups don't occur on national television? Or why in normal conversations with people about the same two figures, the mistake has never occured, in my experience anyways (and I know this isn't a great point to make but it's all I have on the matter). Is it wrong to expect the same level of diligence on such a high level? and if so, explain to me why so I can understand truly why that man called the President of the United States Osama.

I know there is, but there's one focused on us and whatnot simply because of the radical islamist douchebags in charge of our country. TBH it's funny because if some of us do hate the states it's cause they were the ones that brought these assholes into power. but w/e I'm not going into that as it'd be a useless argument. let's get back to romney being a royal ass

K let's stick to Romney here and if u want to respond to this pm me but its not a shield if you've faced racism. That's one. Two, when I said what I said the women still liked my company but on more than one occasion they said they won't take it farther cause of my nationality.

Back to romney

I just heard McCain accuse Obama of a cover up on Benghazi. He didn't question whether there was maybe a coverup. He made a direct accusation as though it was a fact. And his throat seized up on him, so he had to cough and hack his way through the whole lie. Even his own body was disgusted by the bullshit he was offering. And he suggested that this coverup was a factor along with the economy.

This is the sort of shit that would make me disgusted about a Romney win. The difference between the two men isn't a huge factor for me. Neither guy will wield power on their own. With an Obama win there will be some sense of tamping down the cynical machinations of the power that has been bought and paid for by the new aristocracy. With Romney there will be a sense of disgusting means justifying repugnant ends. Of course the real shit will happen down the road regardless of who wins, but I don't want to see the Republican power base feel any sense of achievement in the meantime. The lies need to bring proper consequences.

I know, I have a bad feeling though that Romney will win. If there is a high turnout Obama will likely queeze out a win but word is that the entusiam is down except among white men. That's not a good sign if you want Obama to win. And voter turnout among minorities and younger people are predicted to be down considerably. I heard yesterday it's expected that 90 million registered voters will stay home and not vote.

Obama doesn't need the same level of enthusiasm to pull it out. His odds of winning have improved over the last couple of weeks. Another lie the Republicans are telling, although a reasonable lie in political terms, has been regarding Romney's momentum, and the enthusiasm he is building. That's just bullshit. It looks pretty bleak for them.

But f it comes down to Ohio as expected, then this thing might not be decided for weeks. There are already court challenges regarding the ballots and how the Republicans are looking to toss a ton of them in the garbage. It is already Florida all over again there, and it's not even Election Day. Republicans worked to ensure that 2.7 million votes failed to be counted as eligible last time around, and they use their databases to target just which ones they deem ineligible. The Democrats have thousands of lawyers in place. It could get ugly fast. Hopefully, Obama wins Virgiana, NH, and Iowa and will not need Ohio to get to 270. That's fairly likely. Romney is going to need every dirty trick and then some to win. It will be hard not to see it as a travesty.

I saw a poll on CNN yesterday that had Obama up 51%-45% in Ohio. It appears that he's slightly ahead in 8 of the 10 swing states but most are within 2-3% which is within the margin of error. This election will be tight, I just hope it isn't 2000 all over again. And the funny thing is Florida is a dead heat. Lol

It's just unbelievable how the right to vote is getting trampled on. 5 to 9 hour waits in advance voting stations in Ohio and Florida? That's insane. I've never had more than 3 or 4 people ahead of me. Usually there's no lineup at all.

last time I remember an election in Canada a lot of schools were voting centers. The U.S. just doesn't have as many places to vote. they don't utilize all government buildings. In Australia they made it mandatory to vote, yet the lines aren't big.
