So you're going to punish your uncle for this by refusing to visit him?

Why do you have a personal vendetta against a piece of land - it's pretty silly.

The American government isn't going to shed a tear if you don't visit or even notice if you do visit, but on the otherhand your uncle might enjoy seeing his nephew.

Not only that, but half the country will be in full agreement with Pzabby, so why not travel to those parts of the country. I understand the desire to draw lines, but the real line to be drawn concerns inequality across the world rather than political parties in one country. What is really problematic about Romney's ideas exists here, and pretty much everywhere else there is to go. Until the majority understands that they are being asked to participate in a rigged system for the benefit of the few, and go beyond voting to demand clearly that their interests need to be served properly regardless of who is elected, then drawing any personal lines means very little. The US as a whole under Obama will be only slightly more moral and ethical than under Romney, and under Romney there will still be a large part of the country that will be trying to garner the critical mass to bring the changes needed.

so you're saying obama was only slightly more moral than bush in his 4 years vs his 8? there are countless observations to explain otherwise but the biggest being: the creation of 2 wars, the ending of (almost) 2 wars

What about Obama's continued trampling of individual and state rights? Or his expansion of Presidential power without oversight?

The US is full of great things, and great people (including your uncle) and you needn't endorse all of it to be able to enjoy some of it. Your reasoning skills are like those of an angst-ridden 14 year old.

And you although obviously intelligent love to insult people. Were not in this forum to take shots at each other but to have intellectual discussions. Come on now..

In this particular case, I don't think I'm being insulting but am making a factual observation which, being personal in nature, stings. If I were to state it any more weakly than I have, and I certainly could have stated it more strongly, I think you might more easily be able to avoid thinking first, reacting and feeling second.

It's not my intention to take shots at you, but to call out faulty reasoning. I expect the same from you, to me, and I'll do my best to be friendly along the way, but sometimes a necessary part of analyzing reasoning is to speculate on its causes, particularly when a pattern begins to appear.

now that Obama is going to be re elected he will probably push for things he wanted in the beginning.

GTMO will be closed
taxes for the rich
etc...

no more elections so he doesn't have to worry about independents.
