May 21, Judgement Day?

I had heard about May 21 being a "end-of-world judgement day" from an atheists group on another site. I had read that a radio network called Family Radio had paid for some billboards in Toronto and other cities for it.

I thought it was supposed to be the 7,000 anniversary of the biblical flood.

Luckily it's on a Saturday, so as an atheist it's a good excuse to party. :cookie:

Nah, I already asked that we re-schedule doomsday. The 21st just doesn't work for me, I have a doctor's appointment on the 26th.

It is junk. Even if you accept the methodology, the results are wrong because it hasn't been exactly 7000 years since the flood (that never happened).

jeffb 05-14-2011 02:43 PM

The bible is bullshit!

th3answ3r 05-14-2011 09:44 PM

I'm not religious so I don't read the bible.if it's false, why do people still refer to the past like 200 B.C., etc. Does science prove religion false??

LX 05-14-2011 09:54 PM

It's not about the bible. It's about crazy people that sadly have nothing better to occupy their thoughts.

Windex 05-14-2011 10:55 PM

does that mean I don't have to hand in my essay?

Sauce 05-15-2011 02:18 AM

that is all.

Get real guys, it's not the end of the world, it's the end of the world as we know it. :reporter: I wouldn't mind a world where it rained donuts.

YEah, the 911 attacks caused the end of the world as we know it.
The whole emergence of Apple computers ended the world as we know it.
Allot of things can happen that would cause people to change their views of the world as we know it.

But for people to put faith in a book that was written at different times, by different people, that for the most part is just great fables.
Imagine what the world would be like if we all believed in science. We might have a cure for cancer by now.
O Brave New World

jeffb 05-16-2011 12:03 PM

Fuck this. We need to draft Irving! It can't be the end!!!

as a christian this makes me smh...
some non religious people after reading this might lump all religious people together. think we're crazy, don't believe in science and should catch up with the rest of the world. when really this guy is just a false prophet and doesn't represent anyone but himself when announcing what he interprets of the bible. the bible says that jesus' second coming, he's coming like a thief in the night. so this guy claiming to know may 21st is judgement day is already going against the bible.

as for science proving religion false. i don't think so. science is just a bunch of theories that are accepted as the truth until a new theory comes that DISPROVES the previous one and the latest one is accepted as the truth.

EX: before people thought the world was flat until science proved that wrong and its accepted as the truth that the world is round.
