Hiring People

Is not easy, or fun or exciting.

I could create a list, of dumbass things not to say in an interview.

Yes I am venting because I am frustrated and going to lose my head count.

TIP #1- If you are applying for a Marketing role that stresses communication and attention to detail, please do not have spelling mistakes in your resume.

TIP #2- If on your resume you say you know how to use CRM, please know what CRM stands for.

TIP #3- If you are going to copy pieces of your resume from somebody else's please make sure you remove all instances of their names, and if you are a man, should take "Joining groups and helping other women" out of your interests section.

TIP #4- When applying for a postion that involves some aspect of social media, be aware that the hiring manager will probably check your social media accounts, and it is unwise to use the phrase "I wanted to punch my manager in the face" on your twitter

Tip #5 When applying for a copywriting gig, don't write "I'm really interested in ur writing job, I think I'm the rite writer 4 u."

Having gone through a recent promotion i am reminded how much i lied through my teeth about knowing Excel and other analytical tools. Although to my credit i have picked up excell pretty damn quick and seem to be alright at it now.

However i still get kind of nervous when my new bosses ask me to do something that is way over my head. This just happened an hour ago. learning on the fly is fun!

LOL. YEah based on having gotten to know them, i think it's a safe bet they are not. Although if they were i guess i could hold it against them as well (assuming they post during the day).
