Feel better, dude. Rest up and stick to a liquid diet for the time being ... steak can come later when you're better.

I didn't realize you were sick until now. I didn't check this thread for a couple of days. Belated sympathies and congrats on feeling better.

alright folks.

I received my H1N1 flu shot this morning.

I was on the fence for a long time about getting it, but hearing about 'trane's scare and Juliusjames' experience made me just bite the bullet and get it already. Plus i have a 2 month old also, and the last thing i want is to bring home the virus.

feeling pretty good about the decision.

I'm getting mine sometime this week I think. The Big Nag already has hers and my son has the first of two.

Did it hurt? I hate needles.

no, not at all.

apparently your arm will be sore for a day or two afterwards, but no biggie. Mine feels fine right now (but it's only been an hour and a half since i got it).

My school held a walk-in clinic for H1N1 shots last week. Walked in and got mine in five minutes, tops.

Glad to hear you're feeling better 'trane.

apparently not as 'better' as i thought. i still have a dry cough and exhaustion and have been told to stay away from work until at least tomorrow so i don't put staff/clients at risk... not out of the woods yet, but at least the dizziness and bodyache is gone.

I had swine flu already. I didn't recover fully until 2 weeks later. The body aches are absolutely terrible. Knees, Back and Hip pain x 10000000000. After the initial fever left me, it wasn't like a normal sickness where u can just watch TV and eat soup all day to get better. The joint pain was so bad and uncomfortable that I couldn't sit up for more than 20 mins at a time.

On top of this... my appetite completely left me. I didn't want to eat anything all day, and felt like puking almost everything. I'm telling you guys... don't get the shot if you don't want to... i know the symptoms can act up differently in different people, but man it was bad. really really really bad lol.

Puking is rarely a symptom of swine flu, you probably had something else, or more than one illness. It looks like you had pneumonia, but that requires x-rays and blood test to accurately diagnose, so if you go to the doctor 99% of the time currently they will say you have H1N1.

Not as rare as you'd think, re the vomiting. I've had the seasonal flu once in my life and the pain was almost unbearable, like he describes, so it wasn't necessarily pneumonia.

One of the frequent causes of pneumonia is the flu, swine or otherwise. So someone could have pneumonia secondary to (swine) flu. Vomiting also has been seen in people with (swine) flu. I don't see anything wrong in diagnosing it a possible case of the flu (swine or otherwise) and advising the patient to rest up and take extra hygenic precautions ... as long as this "possible case" is not used to bolster up the total number of definite cases.
