If you can't handle the stress and power don't be a cop.
And I've had my fair share of run ins with Police officers.
A while back there was some graffiti in my neighbourhood that said "Fuck Cops" & "Pigs Must Die".
While I was walking to a friends house, I'm stopped and interrogated by 5-6 officers. And frisked...I was 13 at the time wearing flip flops, shorts and a wifebeater,I was treated as if I was the suspect. I don't see why I was stopped and had I known at the time I didn't have to answer I would've been well on my way to my friends house....I'm sorry I just don't trust cops.
because of multiple incidents of police just being careful and just checking the area for suspects of maybe a henious crime they were investigating? did they take you in as well and kept you in custody of did they just let you go after they frisked you? and this bs of not handling the stress and power, so you can't be a fucking cop? we're all humans, we all make fucking mistakes majority of these guys go out just following procedure and living with the fact that they make toronto a safer place to live

i don't know what you've been through but just because a few run-ins with cops doesn't mean all of them are non trustworthy scum

I've witnessed quite a lot of that in the past. If you are black then sadly I'm not surprised. But I have to say that past is the key word - this town has gotten a lot better with policing since Blair arrived, which makes a lot of this shit very sad. If it makes that many more people feel the way you do, then it's a big step backwards, and I can't help but feel that a lot of people would be happy with that.

it depends on what the job was I guess. I have no idea what the task at hand was. Photo ops? Asserting power on the streets for the sake of doing so? That was all done quite well. Was anything else positive actually accomplished?

Well, if you break it down, the only real goal was to provide a secure environment for the Kings and Queens to have their tea and crumpets. Since there was no major security breach....... success.

I was a short skinny 13 year old. I looked very much like a suspect , I basically shit myself do you know what it feels like to see 5-6 cops shouting and run at you asking a 1,000 questions a sec?.. I know there are good cops, but the majority I have run into are not good at all.

And yes we're all humans, but if you have more power than another human you should be able to handle it...I mean you wouldn't give a nuclear bomb to just any human now would you....

And LX yes I'm black and I'm used to being questioned for no apparent reason, I've seen cops threaten friends for no reason. My friends older brother was just standing outside and he does dress a certain way but do the cops have the right to say "If we come back and see you here, you'll regret" and then motion the cutting of the neck?

I don't even dress like a thug, in the least bit, I wear skinny jeans for god-sakes, what could I be hiding in those?

Several dozen of the 300 people facing charges for alleged criminal acts during the G20 summit had their charges withdrawn Monday.

One young woman high-fived a friend before bolting from the courtroom after hearing the news.

Christopher Miller, who was charged with mischief under $5,000, said he was happy it was withdrawn but feels the process was “ridiculous.”

He was arrested on June 29 — two days after the summit — for writing “Shame on You” in charcoal on a sidewalk outside police headquarters.

“I have a problem with the criminalization of dissent,” Miller said outside court. What he did “a good rain shower would have washed away,” he said.
